Clint ISD Board Adopts Budget, Sets Tax Rate and Approves Pay Increase for 2017-2018

Clint ISD Board of Trustees, at their regular board meeting held August 24, 2017 set the tax rate, adopted the official budget and approved the compensation plan for the 2017-2018 school year.

The tax rate for Clint ISD taxpayers will remain the same. The Board adopted a tax rate of $1.406600 for the year (M&O $1.040100 and I&S $0.366500).

The average value of a home in Clint ISD increased to $94,547 which results in an increase of $91.57 in taxes per year.

The Board also adopted a budget of $107.5 million. The budget was prepared based on a number of factors including an approved tax rate, projected student enrollment, and expected attendance rates.

Included in the budget is $3.5 million from the fund balance to purchase up to 30 new school buses to replace older ones. The District currently has a fleet of 105 buses which transport students across 380 square miles of the District.

The 2017-2018 compensation plan and stipend schedules were also approved.

A pay increase of 1% from the midpoint will be provided to all employees who have not reached the maximum of the pay scale. The increase will cost $695,416.
