The 8th annual SISD Mother-Daughter Conference will give sixth- through 12th-grade girls and their mothers or mother figure the opportunity to connect, create, and contribute while learning about unique programs and endless opportunities in SISD.
SISD girls and their mothers are invited to the event from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 27 at Eastlake High School.
Mothers and daughters will learn about SISD’s advanced academics academies and dual credit courses. Participants also will hear from various post-secondary institutions about college and career options, learn about volunteerism opportunities within the community and participate in fun activities such as decorating cupcakes, picture frames, capoeira, fencing, karate, and a self-defense workshops.
Keynote speakers Yvette Marquez-Sharpnack and Evangelina Soza, authors of the successful Muy Bueno Cookbook, will share their story and talk about the powerful connection between mothers and daughters.
Participants can register for the event online or by contacting their child’s school. Walk-in registration also will be available the day of the conference.
