Horizon City Police Department’s Weekly Blotter: February 11 through 18

With the third week of February in the books, the men and women of the Horizon City Police Department continued their mission to keep the entire High Desert safe and sound.

In addition to their regular duties, HCPD Officers conducted periodic checks of the businesses and homes listed on their vacation watchlist.  For last week’s missions, read on, to view the previous week’s missions click here.

February 18th: No Arrests

1001 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, officers responded to a child custody dispute and conducted a civil escort to the 700th block of Danube.

1036 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to information regarding the return of a runaway juvenile. Officers observed the juvenile to be without injury or illness.

1435 14300th block of Venecia, Officers assisted ambulance and fire crews with a medical emergency.

1501 300th block of Roslyn, Officers responded to an animal complaint. Officers referred the complaint to El Paso County Animal Services.

1917 14500th block of Puerto Del Carmen, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the animal as described.

1933 14400th block of Las Aguilas, Officers responded to a complaint of theft.

2134 Officers responded to a complaint of an aggravated assault in the area of Ascension & Horizon Blvd. Officers determined the incident took place outside the city limits and referred investigation of the incident to El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

2215 700th block of Manzanilla, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate a vehicle as described.

2346 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of terroristic threat. Officers determined no threat had taken place.

0107 Officers discovered a driver in possession of marijuana during a traffic stop in the area of Lago Seco & Veny Webb. Officers will present charges against the driver to the DA’s Office as non-arrest.

0853 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of a faulty auto repair at an unknown walmart location. Officers referred the complainant to store management.

0916 200th block of S. Darrington, Officers responded to a complaint of an attempted scam with unknown caller purporting to be the IRS.

1045 14200th block of Desierto Lindo, Officers responded to a request for a safety check on children on the street. Officers located a two and four year old and were able to meet with parents.

1056 400th block of Tierra Linda, Officers responded to a complaint f a person causing a disturbance who was knocking on people’s doors. Officers checked the area and located the subject. Officers asked the person to leave the area.

1215 14300th block of Horizon Blvd., officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle causing a disturbance. Officers determined the incident took place outside the city limits and referred the incident to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

1314 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of a person walking around knocking on doors. Officers believe the subject to be the subject from the call on Tierra Linda.

1400 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of assault at Horizon Middle School. Officers referred the incident to the School Resource Officer who is posted at the campus.

1448 Officers responded to a request for emergency lockout services at the 13900th block of Horizon Blvd.

1516 13600th block of Ashford, Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash which took place at the Ensor School campus. Officers referred the incident to Socorro Independent School District Police.

1606 13900th block of Pete LaRue, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers provided information.

1619 Officers responded to a complaint of a person causing a disturbance at the 16900th block of Horizon Blvd. Officers located the person and asked him to leave the area.

1714 14200th block of Desert Bush, Officers responded to a complaint of a missing juvenile. Officers and parents located the juvenile during preliminary investigation.

1723 700th block of Desert Ash. Officers responded to a suspicious phone message. Officers provided information.

1752 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a request for a ciivl escort.

1836 Officers responded to a complaint of a person causing a disturbance at the 500th block of Thayer Pease. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate a subject as described.

2026 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of harassment. Officers provided information.

2309 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious person. Officers located a person as described and after conducting investigation determined probable cause for arrest.

February 14th: No Arrests

0810 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers obtained fingerprints for a person requesting such services for background investigation purposes.

0906 13100th block of Thea Smith, Officers assisted ambulance and fire crews with a medical emergency.

0917 14400th block of Desierto Bueno, Officers respond to a residential alarm. Officers checked the home and determined a false alarm.

1122 14300th block of Desert Crest, Officers assisted ambulance and fire crews with a medical emergency.

1248 14000th block of Peter Noyes, Officers responded to a request for a civil escort to the 14000th block of Stoutland in order to pick up packages which were shipped to the wrong address.

1449 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers obtained fingerprints for a person requesting such services for background investigation purposes.

1506 Officers responded to a complaint fo subjects disturbing in the area of Darrington & Corby. Officers located the person and determined they were intoxicated. The person was cited and released to a responsible party.

1611 700th block of Danube, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers provided information.

1703 13900th block of Horizon Blvd, Officers responded to a report of a vehicle on fire. Officers checked the area and located the vehicle outside the city limits.

1711 14200th block of Desert Sky, Officers responded to a residential alarm. During response, officers were cancelled by the monitoring alarm company.

1843 Officers responded to a complaint of subjects disturbing in the area of Horizon Blvd. & Breaux. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate subjects as described.

1849 200th block of Desert Breeze, Officers responded to a request for a personal safety and wellness check. Officers were met with a two year old child who had locked the parent out. Officers were able to make entrance into the residence. The child was within the view of parents and officers throughout the entry process.

2013 13600th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers conducted a safety check on staff and personnel at the Providence Hospital.

2046 14400th block of Desierto Bueno, Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle causing a disturbance. Officers met with the complaint and determined the incident to possibly be related to road rage.

2252 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a request for emergency lockout services.

0002 14000th block of Desert Wildflower, Officers responded to a report of burglary of habitation in progress. Officers determined no burglary took place after checking the residence.

0245 Officers responded to a complaint of a subject disturbing at the of 1500th block of Hartsdale. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate a person as described.

February 13th: No Arrests

0657 14400th block of Donny Murray, Officers assisted medical and fire crews with a medical emergency.

0818 400th block of Hollywood, Officers responded to a mental/ emotional health crisis. Officers deescalated the incident and conducted an emergency detention for mental/ emotional health evaluation.

1021 14800th block of Roslyn, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious person. Officers clotted the person as described and determined he was walking the area attempting to advertise his business.

1049 300th block of Barrel Cactus, Officers responded to a request for an emergency vehicle lock out.

1256 13800th block of Horizon Heights, Officers responded to a residential alarm, Officers checked the residence and determined a false alarm.

1410 700th block of Nazareno, Officers responded to a complaint of a brush fire. The fire was extinguished by the homeowner.

1548 13600th block of Eastlake, Officers were flagged down by a parent concerned about their child’s behavior. Officers met with the parent and child.

1633 14300th block of Desierto Bello. Officers responded to a mental/ emotional health crisis. Officers deescalated the incident and conducted an emergency detention for mental/ emotional health evaluation.

1604 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle causing a disturbance in the area of Darrington Rd. & Pete LaRue. Officers checked the area and determined the vehicle was already gone upon their arrival.

1640 Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the area of N. Kenazo Ave. & Peter Noyes. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle as described.

1808 Officers responded to a complaint of a road hazard in the area of Horizon Blvd. & S.Kenazo Ave. Officers removed the hazard from the roadway.

1811 14500th block of Desierto Lindo, Officers responded to a complaint of reckless damage. Officers conducted investigation.

2221 14300th block of Antwerp. Officers responded to loud music complaint. Officers met with the homeowner and issued a warning.

2316 14400th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of criminal mischief. Officers conducted an investigation and provided information.

0335 14400th block of Teichelkamp, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious person. Officers checked the area and determined that the person was gone upon their arrival.

February 12th: No Arrests

0654 14300th block of Rudi Kuefner, Officers responded to a commercial alarm. Officers checked on the premises and determined a false alarm.

0915 13600th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of an animal bite. Officers referred the incident to El Paso County Animal Control Services.

1138 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers assisted a motorist with an emergency vehicle lock-out.

1311 Officers removed a traffic hazard from the roadway in the area of Horizon Blvd. & Eastlake Blvd.

1430 14000th block of Canario, Officers responded to a complaint of a municipal ordinance violation. Officers determined no code violation.

1523 13600th blvd., Officers conducted a safety and wellness check on the staff and personnel at the Providence Hospital.

1739 Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash in the are of Darrington Rd. & Horizon Blvd. Officers investigated the collision and generated a police report.

1751 Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the area of Desert Mist & Desert Spring. Parties involved were uncooperative with the Officers’ investigation. Officers did not observe signs of physical altercations and asked the parties to separate for the day to cool down. Parties involved refused.

1820 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers provided information.

0034 900th block of Maravillas, Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle and determined no illegal activity taking place.

February 1th: One Arrest

0701 Officers responded to a complaint of malfunctioning traffic lights at the intersection of Pawling & Darrington. Officers checked the traffic light cycles and observed them to be working normally.

0913 12500th block of Weaver, Officers responded to a commercial alarm. Officers checked on the business premisses/ employees and determined a false alarm.

1045 15300th block of Kenazo Ave., Officers conducted checks on shopping center businesses.

1116 19000th block of Armington, Officers checked possible suspicious activity near a vehicle and determined no illegal activity was taking place.

1138 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of possible theft. Officers and parties involved arranged restitution.

1408 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle causing a disturbance. Officers checked the area but found the vehicle in question was gone upon their arrival.

1500 14100th block of McMahon, Officers responded to a complaint of a person with a gun. Officers met with the person in question and determined no illegal activity.

1513 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers provided information.

1610 16000th block of Homestead, Officers responded to a complaint of criminal mischief. Officers provided information.

1819 13600th block of Horizon Blvd., Officer conducted checks on the shopping center businesses.

1928 14100th block of Warren Belin, Officers responded to a request for a safety and wellness check of a person. Officers met with the person in question and determined no need for emergency intervention.

2021 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle causing a disturbance in the area of James Pines. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle as described.

2112 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a civil contention and provided an escort to 14400th block of Canario.

2149 320th block of Jim Knowles, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers developed probable cause to charge one of the parties involved with Family Violence Assault. DA’s Office intake declined the charges. Officers generated a police report.

2225 13800th block of Hollywood, Officers responded to a request for a civil escort.

2250 600th block of Villa Romero, Officers responded to a noise complaint. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate activities as described.

0258 Officers determined probable cause to charge a driver with DWI during a traffic stop in the area of Lago Este & Lago Grande. Officers booked the driver into El Paso County Detention Facility.
