Horizon City PD’s Police Blotter: October 29 through November 5

With a little over sixty days left in the year, the men and women of the Horizon City Police Department continued their 24/7/365 duty of keeping the High Desert safe and sound.

From traffic stops, to neighborhood checks, to even investigating an unfortunate shooting, the HCPD continued their missions professionally and with the highest degree of respect for all.

November 5: No Arrests

0709 14300th block of Lago Diseo, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog, Officers were unable to contain the animal.

0922 Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of Horizon Blvd. and Darrington Rd. Officers investigated the collision and generated a crash (CR-3) report.

0950 100th block of Barrel Cactus, Officers responded to a complaint of harassment. Officers discovered that no one was at the home to meet with them.

1018 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers made contact with the complainant from the previous entry.

1046 400th block of Sand Verbena, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the area. Officers located the vehicle matching description, and checked vehicle and occupants finding that no laws were being broken.

1424 14000th block of Cliffrose, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle. Officers checked on the vehicle and occupant and found that no laws were being broken.

1439 14000th block of Highweed, Officers received information on a lost dog.

1734 600th block of Desierto Bonito, Officers responded to a complaint of harassment. Officers provided information to the complainant.

1817 700th block of Desert Ash, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog, Officers determined the animal had already left the area.

1900 14600th block of Escalera, Officers responded to a residential alarm. Officers found the home secured. False alarm.

2010 13700th block of Eastlake Blvd., Officers responded to a commercial alarm. Officers found the commercial establishment secured, False alarm.

2115 900th block of Maravillas, Officers responded to a complaint of child discipline. Officers determined that the incident was a family matter.

2209 600th block of Danube, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers assisted in maintaining peace between the parents.

0406 14400th block of Desierto Lindo, Officers received information on a suspicious vehicle seen in the area recently.

November 4: No Arrests

1049 14300th block of Desert Fire, Officers responded to a request for a check of safety/ wellness on behalf of a relative. Officers checked the person in question and determined that the person appeared without injury or illness.

1110 600th block of Orchid, Officers responded to a flooded vacant home. The home checked okay, the property manager was alerted.

1147 14400th block of Donny Murray, Officers received a complaint of an abandoned passenger car. Officers conducted investigation and marked the vehicle for removal. (red tag)

1242 At Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received information of possible suspicious activity in the area of Keno & Saco Wy.

1248 14500th block of Corby, Officers responded to a complaint of illegal dumping. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate vehicles littering.

1316 200th block of Barrel Cactus, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers determined the extent of the disturbance to be of a verbal nature and requested the people involved to separate for the day in order to cool down.

1426 600th block of Villa Victoria, Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call, but were cancelled by the homeowner due to a misdial.

1448 Officers responded to a residential alarm at 14500th block of Corby, but were cancelled by the alarm company.

1456 Officers assisted paramedics on a medical call at the 600th block of Danube.

1459 Officers responded to a civil contention in the area of 100 N. Kenazo. Officers provided the parties involved with information.
1528 Officers responded to a request of assistance with child custody enforcement in the area of 500th Adrian Ct. Officers provided the parent with information.

1529 At Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received a complaint of harassment. Officers provided information to the complainant.
1559 Officers responded to a complaint of theft at the 16000th block of Darrington Rd. The homeowner wished to alert the Officers of the activity and did not need to file a report.

1654 In the area of Narciso & Maravillas, Officers conducted a check on a vehicle in the desert area. The vehicle and occupants were not observed to be in violation of any law.

2005 100th block of Darrington Rd. Officers checked shopping center businesses doors as a crime prevention initiative.

2124 At Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received a complaint of harassment. Officers provided information to the complainant.

2348 14000th block of Desert Wildflower, Officers responded to a complaint of loud music. Officers met with homeowners and issued a warning.

0108 14300th block of Cocotitlan, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers determined the extent of the disturbance to be of a verbal nature and requested the people involved to separate for the day in order to cool down.

0108 13900th block of Lago Seco, Officers responded to a complaint of loud music. Officers met with homeowners and issued a warning.

0152 At Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received information on an allegation of harassment.

0206 17000th block of Darrington Rd., Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically, Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

0247 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Darrington Rd. & Horizon Blvd., Officers checked the area but found the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.

November 3: No Arrests

0620 14500th block of Desierto Bello, Officers responded to a hit and run vehicle crash. Officers located the vehicle in the area and generated a crash report.

0818 14500th block of Desierto Bello, Officers responded to a request for a civil escort.

1018 100th block of Barrel Cactus, Officers responded to a complaint of harassment. Officers conducted investigation and provided the complainant information on collecting digital evidence for possible future reference.

1130 Officers responded to a complaint of theft in the area of Corby & Darrington Rd. Officers were unable to complete their investigation as the complainant was not present to provide information.

1147 3600th block of Colville, Officers responded to a complaint of child custody compliance. Officers provided the complainant with information.

1150 14600th block fo Horizon Blvd. Officers responded to a information on the return of a missing juvenile.

1029 13900th block of Blooming Desert, Officers responded to a residential panic alarm. Officers found that no one in the home was in need of any emergency services. False alarm.

1311 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with the complainant who was not present earlier today, and received the pending details on the theft incident.

1520 14300th block of Desert Fire, Officers responded to a complaint of child custody non-compliance. Officers provided information to the complainant.

1632 3600th block of Alderwood Manor, Officers responded to a request of personal safety/ wellness on behalf of a relative. Officers transported the person for emotional/ mental health evaluation.

1718 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received a complaint of threatening messages. Officers investigated and provided information.

2223 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Horizon Blvd. & Darrington Rd. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

2234 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Horizon Blvd. & Darrington Rd. (possibly the same vehicle from the previous complaint) Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

2247 Officers responded to complaint of shots fired in the the area of the 800th block of Villa Seca. Officers checked the adjacent desert areas but were unable to locate shooters.

2331 14500th block of Cabana, Officers responded to a complaint of reckless damage. Officers conducted investigation and provided information.

0047 14400th block of Encantado, Officers discovered debris and a vehicle possibly involved in a hit and run crash. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the owner of the vehicle.

0044 700th block of Cocotitlan, Officers responded to a complaint of shots fired. Officers checked the area and determined the source of the shots to be coming from inside the desert and outside the city limits.

0052 700th block of Villa Seca, Officers responded to a complaint of strange noises. Officers determined the source of the noise to be echo from the shooting in the desert.

0114 14500th block of Encantado, Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress. Officers located the subjects who were fighting who agreed to go their own separate ways.

0140 600th block of Orchid, Officers responded to a complaint of a missing juvenile. Officers generated a runaway report.

0125 14200th block of Desierto Lindo, Officers responded to a complaint of strange noises, Officers determined the source to be the shooting from the desert in outside the city limits, but remained in the area at the request of the complainant.

0510 Officers responded to a utilities hazard in the area of Ryderwood & Ashford. The water tower appeared to have a broken water line. Officers managed traffic flow and notified the water authority.

November 2: One Arrest

0624 Officers responded to a single vehicle crash in the area of Golden Eagle & Darrington Rd. Officers conducted investigation of the minor collision.

1025 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Maravillas & Antwerp. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

1037 13900th block of Veny Webb, Officers responded to a residential alarm. Officers determined that the home was secured. False alarm.

1134 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received information on a proposed community event.

1322 16000th block of Glendive, Officers responded to a report of a home with an unsecured door. Officers checked the interior and did not find signs of a break in. The door was secured and a notice was left.

1722 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received information on an allegation of child endangerment.

1850 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Antwerp & Canario. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

1850 15300th block of Werling, Officers responded to a complaint of a person flying a drone in the area. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the drone or the operator.

1918 During a traffic stop in the area of the 600th block of Darrington Rd., Officers determined probable cause to charge the driver with possession of drug paraphernalia.

2015 300th block of Jim Hofner, Officers responded to a complaint of a noise disturbance. Officers met with the homeowner and requested to lower the volume.

2115 400th block of Mystic Desert, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle. Officers checked on the vehicle and occupants and determined no illegal activity to be taken place.

2207 300th block of Brill Cir., Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle. Officers checked on the vehicle and occupants and determined no illegal activity to be taken place.

2231 14300th block of Desert Wind, Officers responded to a complaint of criminal trespass. A homeowner reported three unknown subjects in the back yard. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the three subjects.

2239 In the area of Desert Ash & Desert Fire, Officers responded to a report of a person in the area asking for a ride. Officers responded and checked the area but were unable to locate the person.

2248 130th block of N. Kenzo Ave., Officers responded to a civil contention. Two people were disputing over the ownership of a vehicle.

2334 600th block of Darrington Rd., during a traffic stop, Officers determined probable cause to charge the driver with Driving While Intoxicated. The driver was arrested and booked into El Paso County Detention Facility.

November 1: No Arrests

0622 14600th block of HOrizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of graffiti. Officers initiated investigation and generated a police report.

0637 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received a request for a civil escort.

1049 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received a complaint of a household member undergoing a personal/ emotional health crisis. Officers responded to the home, upon further investigation, Officers conducted an emergency detention for emotional/ mental health observation.

1131 Officers responded to a complaint of stalking at the 14700th block of Desert Bush. Investigation continues.

1215 14100th block of DeStefano, Officers responded to a complaint of a missing juvenile. Officers conducted investigation and determined that the juvenile was not missing.

1337 Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the area of Desierto Lindo & Darrington Rd. Upon further investigation, Officers determined that two young adults were practicing wrestling routines in the front yard.

1427 200th block of Lago Grande, Officers responded to a request for a vehicle emergency lock out.

1525 14400th block of Thayer Pease, Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call, upon arrival officers learned that a child had been playing with the phone.

1535 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Horizon & Darrington Rd. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

1649 14300th block of Desierto Bonito, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers determined that the extent of the disturbance was verbal.

1805 3600th block of Colville, Officers resopnded to a request of a personal safety/ wellness check on a relative. Officers determined that the person in question was safe and not in any need of emergency intervention.

1903 Officers discovered narcotics and drug paraphernalia on a driver during a traffic stop. Officers charged the driver and will present the case to the DA’s Office.

2009 Officers responded to the Ysleta Port of Entry in regards to the return of a missing juvenile.

2220 600th block of Desierto Bonito, Officers assisted paramedics and first responders with a medical call.

2352 15300th block of Northport, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle and occupant. Officers located and checked on the vehicle and the occupant and determined no illegal activity had taken place.

0111 14300th block of Desierto Bonito, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers asked the parties involved to separate to allow time to cool down.

0221 14300th block of Desierto Bonito, Officers responded to a 911 hangup. The people involved in the previous incident had refused to separate.

0253 14300th block of Desierto Bonito, Officers responded to the same home, but this time received a request to refer the call to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

0734 14300th block of Desierto Bonito, Officers responded to a 911 hangup. Upon their arrival, officers discovered that a member of the household was undergoing a personal/ mental health crisis. Officers conducted an emergency detention for medical/ mental health evaluation.

0911 Officers received a complaint of malfunctioning school zone lights in the area of Ashford & Ryderwood. Officers found that the lights were working properly.

1006 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers assisted HCFD with managing a gas line which was damaged during construction.

1045 14000th block of Flowering Cactus, Officers responded to a complaint of criminal mischief. Upon further investigation, Officers determined that no criminal mischief had taken place.

1048 14700th block of Horizon View, Officers responded to a complaint of theft. Officers conducted investigation and determined probable cause to charge a suspect with theft.

1107 14300th block of Desert Wind, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers were unable to locate the animal in the area.

1211 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received a request for a civil escort to the area of Cactus View.

1214 At Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received a request for a civil escort to the area of 200th block of Tierra Linda.

1233 13600th block of Eastlake Blvd., Officers responded to a commercial fire alarm. Officers arrived and discovered that the business was having issues with the alarm system. False alarm.

1337 14000th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash, minor in nature. Drivers exchanged information and did not wish to file a report.

1408 400th block of Las Palomas, Officers responded to a complaint of Child Custody. Officers received information.

1430 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received information on a vehicle crashed which had taken place earlier during the day.

1639 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received information on the school zone lights which appeared to have been malfunctioning earlier.

1741 400th block of Pomery, Officers responded to a residential alarm, Officers found the home to be secured. False alarm.

1754 14300th block of Desert Shadow, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers were able to contain the animal and hold it at the HCPD kennel awaiting pickup by county animal control services.

1949 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a request of a wellness check of a person. Officers found the person to not be in need of medical or emergency assistance.

2113 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Antwerp & Cora Ruecker. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

2224 14400th block of Desierto Bello, Officers responded to a complaint of a missing juvenile. Officers generated a report.

0048 3000th block of Clancey, Officers responded to a complaint of two missing juveniles. The juveniles were located in the area of Eastlake Blvd. and were released to their parents.

0540 13600th block of Eastlake Blvd., Officers responded to a commercial alarm. Officers found the establishment to be secured. False alarm.

0900 400th block of Penroy, Officers responded to a residential alarm. Officers found the home to be secured. False alarm.

1100 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received a request of an additional civil escort at the 15700th block of Cactus View. Officers took this opportunity to provide a person involved with a copy of an emergency protective order.

1107 400th block of Sand Verbena, Officers assisted HCFD with a fire alarm call. The vacant home was found to be safe. False alarm.

1129 13900th block of Veny Webb, Officers responded to a personal wellness check on a person, as requested by a relative.

1154 700th block of Desert Star, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers conducted investigation and determined the extent of the disturbance to be verbal in nature.

1441 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Horizon Blvd. & Darrington Rd., Officers located the vehicle and conducted investigation. The driver and vehicle were released without charges.

1730 In the area of 300th block of Barrel Cactus, Officers responded to a complaint of child discipline. Officers provided information.

1749 15300th block of Woodhill, Officers responded to a complaint of loud music. Officers checked the area and found no excessive noises.

1949 14400th block of Desert Shadow, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the animal.
2058 In the area of Desert Mist & Desert Sage, Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

2217 14200th block of Desert Ash, Officers responded to a complaint of Fireworks. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate any source of fireworks.

2253 1500th block of Catham Cir., Officers responded to a report of an apparent burglary of habitation possibly involving a vehicle spotted in the area. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and occupants. No illegal activity was observed. Also, Officers were able to verify that no burglary took place.

2328 14000th block of Dust Devil, Officers responded to a residential panic alarm. Officers found there was no need for emergency or law enforcement intervention.

0035 14400th block of Lauren Zelt, Officers responded to a noise complaint. Officers determined that the source of the music was emitting from outside the city limits and requested the homeowner to lower the volume as a courtesy to their Horizon City neighbors.

0115 15300th block of Woodhill Ct., Officers responded to a noise complaint. Officers met with the homeowner who disbursed the get together.

0125 Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the area of Bryce & Thayer Pease. Officers checked the area but found that the area had been cleared upon their arrival.

0140 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers located a juvenile breaking curfew. Parents were contacted and the juvenile was released.

0140 13600th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers assisted medical personnel in identifying a person possibly going through an overdose. Family were contacted by HCPD.

0200 Officers responded to a fight in progress in the area of Woodhill & S. Kenazo. Officers met with a crowd, but upon further investigation determined that people involved had already left the area.

0403 14300th block of Desert Sunset, Officers responded to a complaint of a traffic hazard. Officers located the hazard and removed it from the roadway.
