Horizon City PD’s Police Blotter: October 8 through 15

Entering the second week of October, the men and women of the Horizon City Police department continued their jobs, keeping all of their fellow Horizon residents safe and sound.

October 15: No Report Yet

October 14: Two Arrests

0641 600 block of Desert Ash, Officers responded to a Domestic Disturbance, officers determined that the extent of the altercation was verbal, parties were asked to separate to give them time to cool off.

0821 14500 block of Desierto Bello, Officers received information on an incident which was not criminal in nature.

0854 400 block of Las Palomas, Officers responded to a complaint of a missing person, Officers determined that no emergency response was necessary.

0946 In the area of Darrington Rd. & Rudi Keufner Dr., Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically. The vehicle was gone upon the officer’s arrival.

0953 400 block of Las Palomas, Officers once again met with the family of the missing person who had now returned.

1307 In the area of Horizon Blvd. & Ashford St., Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically. Officers checked the area and found that the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.

1423 At Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a person with questions regarding child custody. Officers provided the person with information.

1429 400 block of Cactus Crossing, Officers responded to a complaint of a city ordinance violation.

1644 Officers conducted business checks in the area of 14400 Rudi Keufner. From time to time officers are able to exit their patrol cars and conduct a little foot patrol conversing with customers, employees, and business owners.

1701 Officers resounded to a complaint of a loose dog at the 600th block of Teichelkamp. Officers were able to contain the animal and brought it to HCPD kennel, awaiting pickup by county animal control services.

1715 Officers responded the area Teichelkamp & Corby to a city ordinance parking violation complaint. The vehicle was red tagged.

1813 13800 block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of a person disturbing. Upon further investigation, officers determined that the person was wanted by Horizon City Municipal Court, officers placed the person in temporary custody and referred them to the court for arrangements.

1801 Officers responded to a complaint of theft at the 13900 block of Horizon Blvd., Officers conducted investigation and placed one person in temporary custody pending prosecution referral to DA’s Office.

1837 13800 block of Hollywood, Officers responded to a complaint of terroristic threat. Officers conducted investigation and generated a police report.

1952 In the area of 15300 Fairwood, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers determined that the extent of the dispute was

2053 600 block of Orchid, Officers responded to a complaint of a missing juvenile. Officers initiated a runaway report.

2251 300 block of Warren Belin St., Officers responded to a complaint of people fighting and a person with a gun. Officers arrived and the gathering disbursed. There was no evidence that a gun was used during the fight.

2204 300 block of Jim Knowles, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious person, officers checked the area and made contact with a person who was walking home and not in violation of any law.

2342 In the area of Corby & Darrington Rd., Officers were flagged down in regards to a domestic dispute. Officers determined that the incident took place outside the city limits and referred the incident to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

2356 300 block of Warren Belin, Officers were summoned to this area once again due to a fight in progress. Officers arrived and determined that no fight took place.

0159 400 block of Desert Marigold, Officers responded to a loud noise complaint. Officers met with the homeowner and informed them of city ordinances regarding music volume.

0209 3600 block of Collville, Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle disturbing. Officers checked the area and found that the vehicle was gone upon arrival.

0213 Officers conducted a check of a vehicle in the area of Darrington Rd. Scobey.

0213 Officers responded to a complaint of a possibly intoxicated driver in the area of Eastlake & Darrington Rd. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

0250 14300 block of Thayer Pease, Officers responded to a 911 call/ unknown problem. Officers determined that there was no need for emergency or law enforcement action.

Throughout the night, Officers conducted periodic checks of businesses, neighborhoods, and also conducted checks of specific residences listed in our Code Watch program.

October 13: No Arrests

0837 14700 block of Paradise Breeze, Officers responded to a complaint of loud music at a home under construction, Officers arrived and asked the construction crew to lower the volume.

0858 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a complaint from an ongoing investigation and received a written statement.

1201 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a complainant with information regarding forged/ counterfeit checks. Officers initiated a police report.

1324 In the area of Ashford St. and Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically. The vehicle had already left the area upon the officer’s arrival.

1432 Officers responded to a complaint of Criminal Mischief in the area of Antwerp and Villa Romero St. Officers initiated a police report.

1515 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a complainant with information about a stolen car.

1529 400 block of N. Kenazo Ave. Officers responded to a commercial alarm. Officers found the premises to be secure. False alarm.

1531 14100 block of Peter Noyes, Officers assisted Code Enforcement by enforcing local parking ordinances.

1608 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a complainant with information regarding a stolen firearm.

1634 600 block of Valle de Bravo, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers were unable to contain the animal.

1708 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a person requesting a civil escort to the area of 14200 Desert Mesquite. Officers conducted the escort to keep the peace between two parties without further incident.

1734 400 block of N. Kenazo Ave. Officers responded to a commercial alarm. Officers found the premises to be secure. False alarm.

1812 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Horizon Blvd. and Darrington Rd. The vehicle was gone upon the arrival of officers.

1842 14000 block of Lago Seco, Officers arrived to a burglary-in-progress call. Officers conducted investigation and determined that the perceived intruders were there lawfully.

1902 300 block of Brill, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers met with the animal owner and issued a warning.

1904 14200 block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. Officers issued CR-2 forms (blue forms) due to minor damage and no injuries reported.

2032 13900 block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to an additional minor traffic accident and issued CR-2 forms (blue forms).

2130 Officers responded to a complaint of teenagers disturbing in the area of Rifton and Horizon Blvd., Officers checked the area and did not find anyone creating a disturbance.

2240 Officers responded to a commercial alarm in the 100 block of N. Kenazo. Offices determined the premise to be secure, false alarm.

2344 3700 block of Talent Wy., Officers responded to a complaint of loud noise, Officers arrived and met with the homeowner and asked to lower the volume.

0145 1500 block of Maurburn, Officers responded to a complaint of loud music, officers met with the homeowner and asked to lower the volume.

October 12: No Arrests

718 600 block Danube, Officers responded to a snake call, Officers removed the rattlesnake from the home.

700 block Cora Rueker, Officers assisted the Code Enforcement department and red tagged an unlawfully parked vehicle.

1013 block Desert Orchid, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious person. Officers conducted investigation and initiated a report.

1130 14000 block Lago Azul, Officers responded to a wellness check and determined reason to initialize an emergency detention for medical observation.

1433 14300 block Sabia, Officers responded to a residential alarm and found the home to be secured. False alarm.

1611 15300 block Woodhill, Officers responded to a complaint of criminal mischief. Officers generated a report.

1653 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a person with general questions about traffic laws.

1713 1600 block of Catham Cir., Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Upon conclusion of investigation officers determined the incident to be of a verbal nature.

1754 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a person with a complaint of a person disturbing. Officers met with both parties and determined that no crime had been committed by either party.

1840 In the area of Armington and Elgin, Officers responded to a complaint of criminal mischief. Upon investigation, officers determined that no criminal mischief had taken place.

1708 14700 block of Canyon Breeze, Officers responded to a complaint of a person causing a disturbance. Officers checked the area and found that the person had already left the area.

1912 3700 block Scoby, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers were unable to contain the animal.

1933 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers me with a person wanting to report a missing person.

2012 14300 block Desert Sage, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle. Officers arrived and found that the vehicle was gone upon arrival.

2023 14300 block Escalera, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers were able to contain the animal and hold it at the HCPD kennel awaiting pickup by county animal control services.

2200 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a person with a complaint of physical assault. Officers conducted preliminary investigation and initiated a report.

0301 14000 block Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of a theft. Officers conducted investigation and initiated a report.

October 11: No Arrests

0800 800 block of Darrington Rd., Officers responded to a complaint of theft, the affected person only wished to alert the officers of the activity and did not wish to file a report.

0900 Officers responded to a report of a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Teichelkamp/ Corby. Officers arrived and found that the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.

1100 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area in front of Horizon High School. Officers checked the area and found that the vehicle had already left the area.

1127 At Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a person reporting deceptive business practices. Officers prepared the person to gather the required documents needed to generate a report.

1257 At Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a parent who wished to report their child as a runaway. The child resided outside the city limits, the parents were referred to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

1449 1500 block of Catham Cir., Officers responded to a domestic disturbance and upon further investigation determined the incident to be of a verbal nature.

1602 13900 block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident, no injuries or major damages were observed, Officers issued CR-2 accident reporting forms (blue forms)

1613 14400 block of Rudi Kuefner, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle, Officers arrived and found that the vehicle had already left the area.

1621 14300 block of Desert Sage, Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area, upon arrival Officers observed that the vehicle was no longer in the area.

1624 14700 block of Calhoun, Officers responded to a complaint of possible animal cruelty. Officers arrived and checked the animal in question and found the animal to have adequate food, water and shelter.

1611 100 block of Cholla, Officers assisted El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies in attempting to locate a child reported as a runaway.

1647 Officers responded to a call of a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Horizon Blvd. & Kenazo Ave., Officers arrived and found that the vehicle had already left the area.

1727 13900 block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident and issued blue forms (CR-2 crash report) due to no injuries and minor damages.

1812 700 block Desert Spring, Officers responded to a complaint of criminal mischief. Officers generated a report.

1813 100 block of Cholla, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog and were able to contain the animal. The dog was brought to HCPD kennel to await pickup by county animal control services.

1850 15300 block of Woodhill, Officers responded to a residential alarm and found the home to be secure. False alarm.

1938 500 block of Cactus Crossing, Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically, Officers arrived and found that the vehicle had already left the area.

2010 In the area of Horizon Blvd. and Darrington Rd. Officers assisted by police explorers assisted a motorist stranded at the intersection. The stalled vehicle was removed from the roadway.

2025 900 block of Maravillas, Officers responded to 911 Call – Unknown Problem, upon further investigation officers determined that the house numbers they had been dispatched to, did not exist and also determined that the 911 call had been placed from a mobile phone.

2139 14300 block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of theft, the person making the report decided they would contact HCPD at a later time with further information on the theft.

2249 Officers recovered a mobile phone in the area of Rifton and Cactus View, the phone was recovered from 14700 block of Cactus View

2318 14300 block of Escalera, Officers responded to 911 Call- Unknown Problem, officers met with the homeowners and determined that there was no need for emergency or law enforcement intervention.

0125 600 block of Maravillas, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers determined that a minor physical altercation took place and directed the parties involved to separate for the night.

0212 13600 block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a request for assistance on behalf of EPPD regarding locating a vehicle possibly involved in a crash in the City of El Paso.

**The Explorer program met from 1800 – 2000 for their weekly meeting. The explorers learned firearms safety and practiced handling firearms as well as firearms safety drills using airsoft pistols.**

October 10: Two Arrests

0617 14300 block Desert Shadow, Officers met with a homeowner who wished to report criminal mischief activity. The homeowner did not wish to file a report.

0807 600 block Crocker St., Officers responded to a call of Domestic Dispute. Officers received information on the incident and determined the incident to be of a verbal nature.

0832 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with person with non-criminal concerns. No law enforcement action was necessary.

1128 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a parent in regards to inappropriate images sent to a child’s mobile phone.

1218 13900 block of Horizon Blvd., Officers assisted TX DPS with a motor vehicle accident.

1236 13900 Horizon Blvd., Officers received information on a complaint of identity theft. Officers generated a report.

1320 14400 block Golden Eagle Dr., Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. No damages or injuries were reported, Officers issued blue forms (CR-2 crash report for minor accidents)

1405 16000 block Darley, Officers responded to a call of burglary of a vacant home in progress. Officers arrived and found four people inside the residence (two juveniles, two adults) who had gained access
unlawfully, they were consuming marijuana. Officers placed the two adults under arrest and booked them into El Paso County Detention Facility. The two juveniles were released to their parents pending prosecutorial presentation to the Juvenile Probation Department.

1447 Officers responded to a complaint of a traffic light not working at the intersection of Horizon Blvd. and Kenazo Ave.

1600 13800 block of Hollywood, Officers responded to a residential alarm. Officers found the home and premises to be secured. False alarm.

1617 190 block of Cholla, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers were unable to contain the animal.

1651 14600 block of Horizon Blvd. Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. Officers initiated a crash report.

1717 14500 block of Cabana, Officers assisted a person with a civil escort. Civil escorts are conducted when two disputing parties must meet momentarily, the escort allows the parties involved to keep the meeting peaceful.

1822 In the area of Desierto Bonito, officers responded to a call of a person disturbing in the area. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspicious person.

1830 In the area of Horizon Blvd. and Darrington Rd., Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area. Officers checked the area and determined that the vehicle was already gone.

1956 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a person with information regarding a motor vehicle crash.

2113 14700 block of Dust Devil, Officers responded to a call of burglary in progress. Officers arrived and determined that no break in had occurred.

2206 13900 block Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of subjects disturbing. Officers arrived and found two people arguing, they were separated. The incident was of a verbal nature.

2336 14500 block of Desierto Bello, officers responded to a complaint of loud music in the area, the officers located the source and met with the homeowner with a request to quit the music.

2357 13900 block of Horizon Blvd., Officers assisted a motorist with a stalled vehicle. The vehicle was removed from the roadway

October 9: No Arrests

0828 14400 block of Desert Sage, Officers responded to a “shots fired” call. Upon investigation, officers checked two subjects who were in the area and directed them to go further into the desert to use their firearms.

1016 19000 block of Bremerton, Officers responded to a residential alarm and found an unsecured front door. The officers made entrance and found no signs of a break in. The officers secured the residence for the homeowner.

1048 800 block of Darrington Rd., Officers responded to a complaint of a person disturbing, upon further investigation officers determined that the person causing the disturbance was a private investigator and requested he leave the establishment and meet with their client to determine other means of obtaining the information that he was requesting from the establishment.

1116 14200 block of Desierto Lindo, Officers responded to a complaint of a person disturbing. Upon further investigation officers determined the person had been involved in an incident from earlier in the week, additional information was obtained from the person.

1259 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a person regarding information on a domestic dispute, upon further conversation officers determined that the incident occurred outside Horizon City and referred the person to the agency of jurisdiction.

1514 Officers responded to a wellness check of a person in the area of Horizon Blvd. & Rodman St., Officers determined that the person was not in need of medical or emergency interaction.

1518 14700 block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a call regarding child custody. Officers provided information to the parent.

1647 400 block of Las Palomas, Officers responded to another call regarding child custody and provided information to the parent.

1735 14000 block of Veny Webb, Officers responded to a theft complaint, Officers conducted investigation and initiated a report.

1822 14300 block of Puentecillas, Officers responded to a call regarding a loose animal, the animal was contained and brought into the HCPD kennel to await pickup by El Paso County Animal Control.

1954 14300 block of Desierto Bueno, Officers responded to a residential alarm, and found that the residence was secure, false alarm.

2051 14500 block of Cabana, Officers responded to a complaint of criminal mischief, upon further investigation determined that the nature of the call was reckless damage, and restitution would be made amongst the two neighbors.

2130 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a person seeking information on child custody. Officers provided information.

2205 100 block of Kenazo Ave., Officers responded to a vehicle fire incident and generated a report.

2318 200 block of Darrington Rd., Officers assisted a motorist whose vehicle had blown a tire, the officers changed the tire and removed the vehicle from the roadway.

October 8: No Arrests

0947 13900 block Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident resulting in damages under $1000. Officers issued the CR-2 accident report forms (blue form)

1240 In the area of Horizon Blvd. & Kenazo Ave., Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a passenger car and a motorcycle. Officers initiated CR-3 crash report.

1300 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received a complaint of deceptive business practices. Officers assisted the complainant and arrangements for service were made between the two parties.

1504 1400 block of Karen, Officers came across with a person wanted by the Horizon City Municipal Court. The person was referred to the municipal court.

1721 14500 block Desierto Bonito, Officers responded to a complaint of a theft and initiated a report.

1833 800 block Darrington, Officers responded to a lose animal call, the animal was contained and was held at the HCPD kennel awaiting pickup by county animal control.

2053 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a person reporting a domestic disturbance. Officers investigated further and the parties affected did not wish to prosecute.

2210 13600 block of Horizon Blvd. Officers met with staff members of Providence Hospital who wished to report that a patient had left and taken an IV with them. The staff did not consider this theft, but wished to notify the police department of the incident.

0038 600 block of Teichelkamp, Officers responded to a wellness check and after further investigation referred the caller to EPCSO for a runaway report.

0254 500 block of Darrington Rd., Officers respond to a business alarm. Officers checked the premises and determined the alarm to be false.
