The week of July 4th means BBQ, fireworks shows and family; but for the men and women of the Horizon City Police Department, it means extra patrols and extra vigilance to make sure we’re all safe and sound.

July 8th: No Arrests
We received a call in reference to possible shots fired off of Cocotitlan. Our officers checked the area off of Puentecillas and Desierto Bonito and everything checked okay.
There was a burglary of vehicle off of Orchid and Freesia. The reporting party advised his vehicle doors were opened and items were on the floor. The officer met with the vehicle owner and a report was generated.
Officers were dispatched to a vehicle that was hit during the night. A company truck parked off of Desert Lily, was hit while stationary. Two case numbers were generated for this incident.
A male subject in a black Ford Expedition, was seen exposing himself in front of the Walgreens located in Horizon City. An officer met with the reporting party and a report was generated. The subject was gone upon arrival.
A report was generated for a motor vehicle accident that had occurred off of Thayer Pease. The accident was called in 30 minutes later.
July 7th: No Arrests
In the 16000 block of Keno a domestic assault call was made. The officers responded to the call and met with both parties. Both parties were separated and advised accordingly.
A motor vehicle accident occurred in the cross streets of South Darrington and Antwerp involving two vehicles. The officers responded to the scene and met with both parties. No injuries were reported. The officers received information and are generated a report.
In the area of 900 block of Maravillas , a concern caller advised of fireworks and gun shots being heard. The officers approach the scene and check the area for subjects. The officers were not able to make contact, the area was secured and checked to be okay.
On the 14000 block of Desert Bush a verbal domestic call was made. The officers arrived on the scene and met with both parties. Both parties were separated. The officers spoke to each party and advised accordingly.
July 6th: No Arrests
An alarm call was reported in the area of Keno and Saco. Officers arrived to location and checked the area, area checked okay was a false alarm.
Officers responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident in the area of Horizon Blvd and Lago Este. After investigating the scene officers generated a report.
A domestic disturbance occurred in the neighborhood of Duanesburg and Thayer Pease. Officers met with subjects involved in an argument. Officers advised both subjects and they were separated.
A vehicle disturbance was reported in the 13000 block of Horizon. Officers check vehicle and subject, both checked okay and subject was advised.
July 5th: No Arrests
A fight was reported soon after it occurred at 13900 Horizon at the Walmart. Officers responded and met with Walmart security as well as one of the subjects still on scene. A report was generated in reference to assault.
Units responded to a subject disturbance in the area of 14000 Desierto Bueno. The reporting party advised of subjects outside throwing rocks. Officers responded quickly and determined the subjects were gone on arrival. They also met with the reporting party and gathered information.
A commercial alarm was reported at 831 S Darrington at the Family Dollar. Units on scene advised it was a false alarm and surrounding areas were determined to be safe.
July 4th: Two Arrests
A burglary of vehicle was reported in the area of 600 Rifton. The reporting party advised of subjects trying to break into their vehicle. Officers responded quickly and checked the area for the subjects and determined they were gone on arrival. Officers then met with the reporting party and gathered information.
Units responded to a domestic issue in the 12000 block of Blair. They met with all parties involved and determined the issue was verbal only. Officers advised both parties accordingly.
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in the area of 300 Sand Gate. The reporting party advised that items were taken from the bed of a truck. Officers gathered information and a report was generated.
A domestic disturbance occurred in the 14000 block of Desierto Bello. Officers met with two subjects involved in an argument. Officers advised both subjects and they were separated.
In the area of 15000 Kenazo, officers responded to a car port that fell on three vehicles. The caller reported that a dust devil had lifted the car port and damaged their vehicles. Horizon Fire Department assisted in securing the car port. Officers generated a report and no injuries were reported.
A vehicle disturbance was reported in the area of Desert Sunset and Desert Silver. The caller advised of a vehicle speeding in the neighborhood. Officers made contact with the vehicle as described by the caller and advised the driver.
Units responded to a report of a suspicious subject in the area of 14000 Desert Crest. The caller advised of a subject who had jumped a wall into their property. Officers made contact and arrested the subject. They were later referred to medical staff at a local hospital.
Officers advised of a fight in progress at 14034 Horizon at the 7-Eleven Store. Two subjects were detained and one was arrested and booked into the downtown jail.
Several calls were made in reference to fireworks being set off throughout the city in compliance with a city ordinance banning fireworks in Horizon City limits. Officers were out in full force and responded to every report made throughout the night.
July 3rd: One Arrest
A domestic disturbance was reported in the area of 800 Villa Seca in reference to a verbal argument between two parties. Officers met with both subjects and separated and advised them.
A citizen flagged down an officer in the area of Las Palomas and Tierra Linda in reference to a burglary of a vehicle. Officers gathered information and generated a report.
Units responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of Eastlake and Horizon Mesa. Two vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported. Officers generated a report and issued citations.
One subject was arrested following a traffic stop in the area of Horizon and Homestead. The subject was wanted with our agency and was arrested and booked into the jail annex.
A domestic issue was reported in the area of 600 Danube. Officers met with the family members and determined the issue was verbal only. All parties were separated and advised.
July 2nd: One Arrest
Out in the area of Kenazo and Horizon, a vehicle disturbance call was made. The officers responded to call and met with two subjects. The subjects checked okay and were advised accordingly.
A verbal domestic call was made in the area of Lago Azul and Lago Claro. The officers met with both parties. Both parties were separated and one of the parties was escorted to a better location at their own discretion. The officers advised accordingly.
In the 14000 block of Canario, a verbal domestic call was made. The reporting party advised of a couple arguing in their home. The officers responded to the call and met with the home owner where the verbal domestic occurred. The officers spoke to one of the parties and advised.
A subject turned themselves in for warrants. The officers confirmed the warrants and arrested one subject and was booked into the jail annex.
A subject disturbance call was made in the area of Darrington and Eastlake. The reporting party advised that a subject was following them around in a vehicle. The reporting partying advised that they did not know the subject and was not sure why subject was following them. The officers responded to the call and met with the reporting party. The officers were able to make contact with the subject. Both parties were advised accordingly.
