As the High Desert starts to warm up ahead of the Summer Season, the men and women of the HCPD remain cool and calm, keeping residents safe and sound.

May 20th: No Arrests
A noise disturbance call was made in the area of 14000 Cocotitlan Drive. The reporting party advised of loud music playing since 2200 hours. The officers responded to the call and met with homeowner. The officers advised home owners to lower the music and the area checked okay.
In the 14000 block of Desierto Lindo, a vehicle disturbance call was made. The reporting party advised that vehicles are speeding through the street and were concerned they could cause an accident. The officers met with reporting party to gather information. The reporting party requested for extra patrol around the area for speeding vehicles and extra patrol will be provided.
A resident in the 14000 block of Orchid called concerning three juveniles entering resident’s properties. The residence advised that it had been on-going issue and requested to speak to an officer. The officer met with resident and collected information. The officers made contact with the juveniles and their responsible party and advised them accordingly.
An assault was reported in the block of 14000 De Stefano Lane. The reporting party advised of their neighbor and themselves having an argument. The officers responded to the scene and met with the reporting party. The officers gathered information from the reporting party. Both parties were advised.
May 19th: No Arrests
At the 14000 block of Horizon Blvd, officers checked a suspicious vehicle with two subjects inside the vehicle. The officers made contact with both subjects that were possibly intoxicated. The officers released both subjects to their responsible parties and cited both for public intoxication.
A report was made for criminal mischief in the area of 400 Cutler. A vehicle was found vandalized and the reporting party advised the officers that actions may have occurred overnight. Officers generated a report and extra patrol was requested and will be provided around the area.
Information on a theft was received in the area of 14000 Escalera. The reporting party advised the officers that appliances had been taken from the property. The officers received information and the reporting party was advised accordingly.
Multiple calls were received in reference to a traffic hazard in the area of Golden Eagle and Orchid Drive concerning a tree blocking the views of drivers. Reporting parties advised that the tree can could cause an accident. The officers met with the homeowner and advised them of the situation of the tree and the concerns that were being made. The officers also advised the Code Enforcement Department about the issue.
In the area of the 13000 block of Eastlake, a subject disturbance call was made. The reporting party advised of two juveniles asking customers for money in front of businesses. The officers were able to locate the two juveniles in front of the Family Dollar business. The officers made contact with the two subjects and escorted them to their responsible party.
Extra patrol will be made in the area of 500 Von Bargen due to subject disturbance calls. The reporting party advised the officers that several juveniles are walking around causing a disturbance and hiding behind residence vehicles. The officers responded to the call and made contact with the reporting party to receive more information. A report was generated and extra patrol was requested and will be provided around the area.
May 18th: Three Arrests
Multiple calls were made to the Police Department reference to a suspicious subject in the area of Antwerp Dr. and Rifton St. Reporting parties advised subject had been bothering females walking. Officers checked the area of Cactus Crossing and found one subject. Officers arrived to check one of the usual subject, subject was then dropped off at his residence on Platino Pl. Everything checked okay and subject was dropped off.
An injured victim walked in to the station to report domestic violence. All the officers and detectives arrived to the residence provided and made no contact with male subject. Officers checked the area of Horizon and Homestead then had a visual with the male subject, Officers immediately made arrested subject and transported male subject to the station for report writing. An Ambulance was requested to treat male and female half. Horizon Fire and Life Ambulance arrived to transport two patients to two local hospitals. Arrested subject was released to medical personnel and female subject was granted a protective order. A report was generated by the officers.
Officers conducted a traffic stop at 403 Duanesburg, upon running driver on the system, driver came back wanted with our agency. Officer then advised driver on warrants, driver was followed to the station to post bond.
Officers conducted another traffic stop at 15000 Darrington, driver was also wanted with our agency. Subject was then followed to the station where subject later posted bond and was released.
May 17th: Three Arrests
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Darrington and Golden Eagle. While researching credentials on the subject, the subject was found to have warrants with the Horizon City Municipal Court. The subject was then detained and booked.
In the area of 14000 Horizon, Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle. The caller advised of a vehicle stationary by a trash can on the side of the building. Officers went out to the area and were able to make contact with the vehicle and a subject. The officers were advised that the vehicle would be moving at 0600 hrs. The vehicle and the subject checked okay.
Officers responded to a theft of shop at 14034 Horizon at the 7-Eleven. The reporting party advised of a subject who was continuously entering and leaving the store. The reporting party later advised that the subject left the store with sodas. Multiple officer responded to the scene and made contact with the subject. The subject’s vehicle was impounded and the subject was taken to a local hospital reference medical clearance.
While conducting a traffic stop out in the area of Talent and Ryderwood, one subject was detained reference warrants with the Horizon City Municipal Court. The officers detained the subject and brought him to the Horizon City Police Station where the subject then posted and was released.
In the area of 300 South Darrington units assisted with a vehicle disturbance. The caller advised of a vehicle driven by a possibly intoxicated driver. The units responded to the area and were able to make contact with the vehicle, the vehicle checked okay.
Officers booked and detained one subject while conducting a traffic stop in the area of South Darrington and Nunda. The subject was wanted with the El Paso County Sheriff’s department reference a missing juvenile. Officers attempted to make contact with the parents, however, negative contact was made.
May 16th: One Arrest
In the 1400 block of Desert Sage, officers were flagged down to assist in a domestic issue in progress. The officers separated both parties. Both parties were advised accordingly.
A subject was found on the ground in the 13000 block of Horizon. The officers were passing by and stopped to help subject. The subject advised they fell while walking. The officers were able to assist the subject and everything checked okay.
The officers were dispatched to the block of 16000 Keno Drive in reference to a verbal domestic. The officers made contact with both parties. Both parties were advised accordingly.
A call was made in the area of 3000 Clancey Lane in reference to an assault. The reporting party advised that they had been assaulted and subjected had left. The officers met with the reporting party to receive information. The subject returned to the scene and was being uncooperative. The officers transported the juvenile subject to JPD in reference to assault.
May 15th: One Arrest
Officers responded to a domestic aggravated assault in progress in the area of 400 Desert Dandelion. The reporting party advised of an assault occurring between two parties. Officers made contact with the reporting party and were able to separate both parties.
In the 14000 block of Horizon, officers responded to a four motor vehicle accident. Officers arrived at the scene and checked for injuries with first responders. No injuries were reported and citations were issued and they were able to clear the scene.
Officers assisted another agency and conducted a traffic stop at 13990 Horizon. The reporting agency advised the vehicle involved was stolen and was requesting assistance from our officers. Units stopped the vehicle and detained one subject. The subject was later released to auto theft detectives.
In the area of Eastlake and N Kenazo, a child was reported riding his scooter in the street without any supervision. The reporting party was concerned for the welfare of the child. Officers arrived and made contact with the child. The child checked okay and officers were able to release child to his responsible party.
May 14th: No Arrests
Officers responded to a burglary call in the 14000 block of Calla Lily. The reporting party reported to have seen two subjects in their home. Officers arrived and met with homeowner. Officers made contact with the subjects. The two subjects were found to be family members to home owner and the officers determined that no burglary had occurred.
A domestic call was made in the block of 14000 Peter Noyes. Upon arrival, officers met with all parties and determined no psychical assault had occurred. The officers advised all parties accordingly.
A suspicious subject was reported walking in the area of Pawling and Nunda. Officers were able to make contact with the subject. The subject checked okay and was able to be released to responsible party.
Units were dispatched to a noise disturbance in the 14000 block of Daffodil. The reporting party advised officers that music had been going on since 2200 hours. Officers made contact with home owner and advised to keep noise level down.
In the 13000 block of Horizon, officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. Officers arrived to only one vehicle at the scene. Reporting party advised to officers that the other party fled the scene and gave a description of the other vehicle. Officers made an attempt to locate other vehicle. No injuries were reported and information was received.
A garden snake was found in a resident’s home in the area of 300 Schoellkpf. Homeowner advised the snake was trying to strike but was able to contain the animal. Officers assisted the homeowner with the snake and released the snake into the desert. Officers checked the area and everything checked okay.
A vehicle disturbance call was made in the 14000 block of Escalera. The reporting party reported vehicle almost ran over reporting party’s children. The officers met with both the reporting party and the subject and a verbal warning was issued and both parties were advised.
