Horizon City Police Department’s Blotter: Week of August 13 through 20

Between back to school traffic and the monsoon thunderstorms, the men and women of the HCPD were busy last week keeping the High Desert safe.

August 20 – No Arrests

A noise disturbance was reported in the 300 block of De Stefano. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the home owner who was advised.

Officers assisted Horizon City Fire Department with a structure fire in the 14800 block of Horizon Blvd. The fire was extinguished and all units cleared the scene.

An animal call was reported in the 14000 block of Desert Sunset, reference to a loose K9 in the area. Officers were able to contain the K9, and returned to its residence. The owner was advised.

A municipal call was received in the area of Thayer Pease and Katherine in reference to a trailer blocking the street. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the trailers owner. The owner was advised and the trailer was moved.

An animal call was received in the area of Horizon and Homestead in reference to a loose K9 in the area. Officers arrived on scene and contained the K9. Animal Control was notified to recover the K9.

Officers responded to a theft call at 13900 Horizon Blvd in reference to shoplifting. Officers made contact with loss prevention and the subject. A report was generated.

A 911 call was received at the Walgreens located at 14300 Horizon Blvd in reference to a domestic verbal. Officers made contact with the reporting party upon arrival. The reporting party advised that the second party was located in the 14000 block of Cabana where officers made contact with the second subject. The officers advised both parties and cleared the scene.

A call was received in the 400 block of Penroy in reference to terroristic threats. Officers responded and made contact with both parties. Upon investigation officers determined it was a civil matter and advised both parties.

Officers responded to an animal call out in the area of Warren Belin and Jim Hofher in reference to two vicious loose K9s in the area. Officers responded and conducted a search of the area. The officers were not able to locate the K9s.

A traffic hazard call was received in the area of south Darrington and Valentin in reference to a two K9s blocking traffic. Upon arrival of the area the officers were unable to locate the K9s. The officers cleared the scene.

A vehicle disturbance call was received in the area of 1400 Horizon in reference to a reckless driver. Officers responded and proceeded to search the area. The officers were unable to locate the vehicle and returned to service.

Officers responded to a subject disturbance call in the 600 block of Manzanilla. The officers made contact with both parties. Officers determined it was a civil matter, both parties were advised.

August 19 – One Arrest

A vehicle disturbance was reported in the area of Texas Rainbow and Desert Mesa in reference to a reckless driver. Officers arrived to the area and attempted to locate the vehicle. The vehicle was gone upon their arrival.

Officers were checking three subjects behind the Exxon on Horizon. The three juveniles were cited for miner consumption of alcohol and were released to responsible party.

Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 14900 block of Horizon. The driver was found to have warrants in our agency. Officers arrested the subject and booked them into the downtown county jail.

Units were dispatched to the Wing Daddy’s parking lot to assist a Horizon resident with a vehicle lockout. Upon arrival officers were able to unlock the vehicle and everything checked okay.

A domestic issue was reported in the 12500 block of Weaver. Officers made contact with both parties, parties were separated and advised. Officers determined the issue was verbal only.

The sound of gun shots was reported in the desert area near Narciso. Officers were able to make contact with vehicle and subjects. Everything checked okay and all subjects were advised accordingly.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious subject. Units were able to locate the subject who was then released to responsible party and was advised.

A subject disturbance was reported at the Peter Piper Pizza restaurant in reference to juveniles hitting windows with a ball. Officers arrived on scene and the juveniles were gone upon their arrival. Officers met with the store manager and necessary information was received.

A theft was reported in the 15300 block of Fairwood. Officers arrived on scene and were able to collect evidence. A report was generated and the officer cleared shortly after.

August 18 – No Arrests

A residential alarm call was reported on the block of 14300 Desierto Bonito. Our officers responded and secured the residence. The residence and area checked okay.

A noise disturbance was reported in the 14600 block of Daffodil. Officers arrived and advised that the area checked okay. They also made contact with reporting party who was advised.

A vehicle disturbance was reported in the area of Darrington and Horizon Blvd. The reporting party advised of a vehicle driving reckless through the area. Officers responded quickly but were unable to locate the vehicle.

An animal call was received in on the 14400 block of Desierto Bello referencing a snake out on the street. Our officers were sent out and upon arrival contained the snake and secured the area.

A second animal call was received on the 14300 block of Escalera referencing a rattlesnake in the reporting party’s garage. Upon arrival, our officers arrived and contained the snake and secured the area.

Officers checked a suspicious vehicle the area of Desert Mist and Desert wind. Our officers made contact with the driver. The driver checked okay and was advised to leave the area.

While patrolling the area, our officers came across an open door on the 700 block of Villa Seca. Our officers checked the area and secured the residence. The area and residence checked okay.

A motor vehicle accident was reported on the block of 18000 Darrington involving one vehicle. Officers and first responders arrived and advised that there were no injuries. The area was secured and citations were issued.

A call was received on the 13600 block of Eastlake. Officers along with Horizon Fire and Life Ambulance were dispatched to a medical call. Our officers assisted Horizon Fire Department and Life transported the patient to a local hospital.

August 17 – One Arrest

Officers conducted a routine traffic stop in the area of Rudi Kuefner and South Darrington. Upon investigation the passenger was found to be wanted out of our department. The subject was arrested and booked in to the county jail.

HCPD assisted HCFD on a gas leak call in the 14500 block of Desierto Bello. An investigation of the area was conducted, with no leaks being found. HCPD and HCFD cleared the scene.

A call was received in reference to a vehicle disturbance in the area of Eastlake and Darrington. Officers responded to the area and made contact with the subject of the said vehicle. The vehicle and subject checked ok.

Officers responded to a noise disturbance call in the 600 block of Danube. Officers responded and checked the area. The area checked ok with no noise disturbances.

August 16 – No Arrests

A vehicle disturbance was reported in the 16000 block of Ashford. Officers were able to locate that vehicle, and subject inside vehicle was advised to leave the area officer cleared right after.

Officers along with Life Ambulance and Horizon Fire responded to 14000 block of Horizon reference a sick party. A patient refusal was obtained and all units cleared the scene.

Officers were dispatched to the Walmart reference theft. Units arrived on scene and after obtaining all necessary information a report was generated.

An alarm was reported in the area of Cliffrose and Glenosa. Officers arrived on scene and checked the residence everything was okay, call was reference to a false alarm.

August 15 – One Arrest

A call was received in reference to a two vehicle accident in the S Darrington area. After officers arrived, it was determined there were no injures.

HCPD officers were sent out in the neighborhood of Las Palomas and Crocker Drive regarding a subject disturbance. Officers responded to the scene and checked the area looking for the reported subject. After making contact with the reporting party, officers continued to gather all required. The officers determined the subject left upon arrival and officers cleared the scene shortly after.

Officers assisted the Horizon Fire Department in the Kenazo and Darrington area in attempting to locate a reported water leak. HCPD and HFD cleared the scene after determining no water leaks were found.

Units were dispatched to the area of Lago Grande in regarding a residential alarm. All units responded as to check the residence. Officers secured the outside of the residence and advised the home owners of residential alarm ordinances of the Town of Horizon City.

In the area of Rifton and Canyon Breeze vandalism was reported.The caller requested units to respond in order to make a report. After units were on scene and further questioned the homeowner, officers were able to gather all necessary information for a report. The officers also requested a third party company to have the vandalism to be removed as soon as possible.

August 14 – One Arrest

HCPD officers responded to a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Walmart parking lot at 13900 Horizon Blvd. upon investigation the officers determined that there were no injuries and the damages were less than $1000 and issued blue forms.

A call was generated in the 14700 block of Dust Devil in reference to an aggressive K9. Officers responded to the area where they found the K9, they proceeded to make contact with the K9’s owner. Officers advised the owner of the K9 and the owner was cited by Animal Control.

HCPD officers responded to alarm call in the 13600 block of Horizon Blvd. Officers were able to make contact with the owner and were advised that it was a false alarm. The officers cleared the area.

Officers conducted a search for a wanted subject out in the 400 block of Uxmal. Officers made contact with the wanted subject and was arrested. The subject was later booked into the county jail.

August 13 – No Arrests

A noise disturbance was reported in the area of 14000 Desert Crest. Officers arrived to a party and met with the homeowner and they were advised accordingly.

Units were dispatched to a domestic issue in the area of 14000 Calla Lily. Officers met with all parties involved and gathered information. Both parties were separated and advised.

A motor vehicle accident occurred in the area of Darrington and Horizon. No injuries were reported and the drivers were able to move their vehicles into a nearby parking lot and out of traffic. Officers gathered information on scene and generated a report.
