Horizon City Police Department’s Blotter: Week of August 20 through 27

With September closing in, and the days starting to get just a bit cooler and shorter, the men and women of the HCPD continued their mission to keep the High Desert safe and sound.

August 27 – No Arrests

While on patrol officers checked on an occupied vehicle in the area of Rodman and Veny Webb. The driver and vehicle checked ok and were advised to leave the area.

A residential alarm call was received in the 14000 block of Escalera Dr. Officers arrived on scene and checked the area, they made contact with the home owner. The officers determined the call to be a false alarm. The home owner was advised and officers cleared the scene.

HCPD received a vehicle disturbance call in the 16200 block of Horizon BLVD in reference to a speeding vehicle. Officers responded to the area and conducted a thorough check of the area. The officers were unable to locate the vehicle and cleared the scene.

Out in the 14000 block of Warren Belin officers responded to a domestic assault in progress. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the two parties. The two parties refused to file a report at this time and the two parties were separated.

HCPD officers assisted HCPD fire fighters with a medical call in the 14700 block of Dust Devil. Officers cleared the scene and the patient refused transport.

Officers responded to the area of Horizon BLVD and Anderpont ST. in reference to vehicle disturbance. The reporting party advised of vehicles speeding in the area. The officers checked the area, they were unable to locate the vehicles and returned into service.

A call was received in the area of Cactus Creek in reference to a subject disturbance. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the two parties. A report was generated and the parties advised. The officers cleared the scene and returned into service.

HCPD received a subject disturbance call in the 400 block of Pomeroy. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the involved parties. Upon investigation the officers determined that the call was in reference to a civil issue, both parties were advised and officers returned into service.

An alarm call was received in the 13800 block of Hollywood DR. Officers responded to the call and were able to conclude that the call was reference to a domestic issue, both parties were uncooperative and advised.

While on patrol officers assisted a motorist in the 800 block of Villa Seca.

Officers were flagged down in the 200 block of Darrington in reference to a motorist in need of assistance. Officers assisted the motorist and moved the vehicle off the roadway.

HCPD received a call in the 400 block of Lauren ST. in reference to several loose K9s in the area. Officers arrived on scene but were unable to contain the K9s. Animal control was advised and officers cleared the scene.

A fight in progress call was received at the Fourth and Goal located at 14010 Horizon BLVD. Officers responded to the scene and detained the subject involved. The subjects were cited and released to responsible parties.

August 26 – One Arrest

Units responded to a noise disturbance in the 600 block of Villa Victoria. Officers made contact with the homeowner and one subject was released to a responsible party.

Officers checked multiple subjects in the area of Medill and Brill. A report was generated in reference to minor in possession of alcohol. Subjects were released to responsible parties.

A traffic stop was conducted in the area of Roslyn and Desert Song. Officers made contact with several subjects and citations were issued for minor in possession of alcohol.

Units were dispatched to the area of 14000 Kingston in reference to a loose K9. Officers made contact with the owner and issued a city ordinance violation notice.

A caller reported criminal activity in the 100 block of Kenazo. Officers met with the reporting party and gathered information. Extra patrol was requested in the area and will be provided.

An alarm was reported at 500 S Darrington at Pete Duarte Headstart. Police units responded quickly and checked the building. It was determined to be a false alarm.

A separate alarm was reported at 13990 Horizon at the McDonald’s restaurant. Officers met with employees and determined it was a false alarm. The building and occupants checked okay.

One subject was arrested following a traffic stop at 700 S Darrington. The subject was wanted by our agency. Officers arrested and processed the subject at the station. The subject then posted bail and was released.

A subject disturbance was reported in the area of 14000 Desert Fire. Officers met with several subjects and gathered information. All parties were advised accordingly.

Units responded to a disturbance call in the area of 14000 Peter Noyes. The reporting party advised of subjects in the area involved in a possible altercation and leaving in speeding vehicles. All subjects were gone upon arrival and the area checked okay.

A domestic issue was reported in the 14000 Thayer Pease. Officers gathered information from all parties and determined the issue was verbal only. Parties were separated and advised accordingly.

August 25 – One Arrest

Officers went out to 600 block of Desert Ash in reference to a criminal mischief. Officers arrived to speak to the reporting party who stated tires has been slashed during night time. Officers collected evidence and information to generate a report.

A call came in to the station in reference to stolen items from reporting party’s vehicle. Reporting party met with officers to report the missing items, vehicle was parked at the Vista Market on Kenazo. A report was generated and vehicle was processed.

Officers assisted the crime prevention officers at the Walmart reference to a subject shoplifter. Subject was arrested and taken to the Horizon Police Department to post bond then was later released and a criminal trespass was issued.

A motor vehicle accident was reported with no injuries out at 140 N Kenazo. Officers arrived to file a report with no injuries both vehicles were driven away by registered owners.

A minor motor vehicle accident was reported on Darrington and Eastlake officered arrived to issue blue forms to both parties involved. No report was generated and officers cleared up traffic from the area.

August 24 – Three Arrests

Officers conducted a routine traffic stop in the area of 400 Kenazo. Upon investigation the driver was found to be wanted out of our department. The subject was arrested. The subject posted and was released.

HCPD received a call in the area of 600 Orchid in reference to a Subject with a warrant, who wanted to turn him self in. The subject was arrested and booked in to county jail.

A call was received in reference to a domestic assault in progress in the 600 block of Cactus Creek. Officers responded to the call and upon arrival made contact with the involved parties. A report was generated and one subject was arrested and booked in to the county jail.

Officers responded to an animal call in the 14000 block of Desert Sage, in reference to a loose K9 in the area. The responding officers made contact with the reporting party. The K9 was contained by officers. The owner was advised and a city ordinance violation was issued. The K9 was returned to his owner.

Officers were flagged down in the area of Ryderwood and Ashford. The officer determined the call to be in reference to child discipline. The reporting party was advised.

An alarm call was received at WB liquors located at 13823 Eastlake. The responding officers checked the business and made contact with the key holder. The call was determined to be a false commercial alarm.

A traffic hazard was reported in the area of 14200 Horizon Blvd. Officers arrived and removed the hazard from the roadway.

HCPD received a suspicious vehicle call in the area of 3600 Alderwood Manor, in reference to a stationary vehicle. Officers arrived and made contact with the owner of the vehicle. The vehicle and subject checked ok.

Officers responded to a civil issue call in the area of 1500 Pawling. Upon arrival officers made contact with the reporting party but could not contact second party. The officers received the information and advised the reporting party then cleared the scene.

Officers checked on a vehicle in the area of 14400 Rudi Kuefner. The vehicle was red tagged and the officers cleared the scene.
In the area of 14200 Desert Bush officers checked on a vehicle in reference to and parked trailer. The officers made contact with the registered owner who was advised.

A hit and run call was received in the area of 14600 Horizon. Officers responded and conducted a search of the area and made contact with the first party. A report was generated and officers were unable to locate the second vehicle.

While on patrol an officer was flagged down by a motorist in the area of south Darrington and Corby PL. The officer assisted the motorist and cleared the scene.

August 23 – One Arrest

HCPD received an assistance call referencing to an assistance out in the 14300 block of Desierto Lindo. Upon arrival our officers checked the residence, secured the area, and assisted the homeowner.

We received an animal call out in the area of Desert Ash and Desert Sage referencing loose dogs out on the street. Our officers went out and contained the dogs and were released to the proper owner.

One subject was arrested following a traffic stop in the area of Duanseburg and Golden Eagle. Officers escorted the subject to the station for processing where the subject posted bond and was released.

Our officers were called out to the area of Horizon and Darrington referencing an assistance call. A vehicle broke down on the roadway and our officers assisted the driver with the traffic around the area.

A call came in referencing a suspicious subject in the area of Bombay Ct. and McMahon Dr. Our officers were dispatched to the area and checked okay but were unable to locate the subject.

Our officers were dispatched out to a call on the 13900 block of Horizon referencing a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, our officers and HCFD notified that there were no injuries reported, area was secured and a report was generated.

Our officers went out to assist EPSO and EPPD in the area of Horizon Blvd referencing a pursuit on a wanted subject. Subjects were detained by EPPD.

An additional call came in referencing another animal call. A loose dog was reported in the 400 block of Amalia Dr. Our officers went out and contained the dog and animal control was notified.

A call was received out on the 13900 block of Horizon regarding a theft. Our officers went out and met with the subject and reporting party. The reporting party was advised and no report was filed.

We received a call out in the area of Maravillas and Desierto Lindo referencing a suspicious vehicle. Officers went out and checked the area, however the vehicle was no longer there. Officers advised that that the area checked okay.

A burglary alarm call came in on the 800 block of Villa Seca. Our officers were dispatched out to the area. Upon arrival they checked the area and secured the residence. Both the residence and the area checked okay.

A second call came in regarding a burglary alarm on the 14200 block of Desierto Lindo. Our officers were sent out and upon arrival secured the area and residence. Both the area and residence checked okay and the officers determine it was a false alarm.

August 22 – No Arrests

A domestic verbal issue was reported at the Valero. Officers arrived on scene and both parties were separated and advised. Officers determined the issue was verbal only.

Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the area of Horizon and Encantado. Vehicles were removed out of road way, no injuries were found and a full report was generated.

A domestic issue was reported in the 230 block of Lago Grande. Officers made contact with both involving parties and advised them accordantly, parties were separated.

A Horizon citizen came in to the station reference a civil issue. Offices made contact with the individual and the information was received.

A welfare check was requested in the area of Lago Seco and Lago Azul. Officers made contact with individual and everything checked okay.

Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident at the Walgreens. Vehicles were not blocking traffic and no injuries were found. Citations were issued and officers cleared shorty after.

August 21 – One Arrest

Officers encountered an open garage door in the area of 14000 Desierto Bueno. They were able to make contact with the homeowner and the residence was secured.

A residential alarm was reported in the 14000 block of Flowering Cactus. Units responded quickly and checked the residence and determined the call was in reference to a false alarm.

A motor vehicle accident occurred near the 14000 block of De Stefano involving two vehicles. The drivers were able to move their vehicles out of traffic and no injuries were reported. Officers generated a report and citations were issued.

Units were dispatched to a commercial alarm at 150 S Darrington at A-Wireless company. Officers checked the building and made contact with employees. The call was determined to be a false alarm.

A separate commercial alarm was reported at 13600 Horizon at HCNEP Horizon City. Responding officers checked the building and it was determined to be a false alarm.

Officers responded to a residential burglary in the area of 14000 Canario. Officers spoke with the homeowner and gathered information. They concluded no burglary had taken place and the homeowner was advised accordingly.

A concerned caller reported two loose K9’s in the area of 300 Golf View. Officers checked the neighborhood and were unable to locate the K9’s as described by the caller.

A domestic disturbance was reported in the 13000 block of Hollywood. After gathering information from both parties, officers advised the issue would be in reference to a civil matter. Both parties were separated and advised accordingly.

One subject was arrested following a traffic stop in the 14000 block of McMahon. Officers escorted the subject to the station for processing where the subject posted bond and was released.

August 20 – No Arrests

A noise disturbance was reported in the 300 block of De Stefano. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the home owner who was advised.

Officers assisted Horizon City Fire Department with a structure fire in the 14800 block of Horizon Blvd. The fire was extinguished and all units cleared the scene.

An animal call was reported in the 14000 block of Desert Sunset, reference to a loose K9 in the area. Officers were able to contain the K9, and returned to its residence. The owner was advised.

A municipal call was received in the area of Thayer Pease and Katherine in reference to a trailer blocking the street. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the trailers owner. The owner was advised and the trailer was moved.

An animal call was received in the area of Horizon and Homestead in reference to a loose K9 in the area. Officers arrived on scene and contained the K9. Animal Control was notified to recover the K9.

Officers responded to a theft call at 13900 Horizon Blvd in reference to shoplifting. Officers made contact with loss prevention and the subject. A report was generated.

A 911 call was received at the Walgreens located at 14300 Horizon Blvd in reference to a domestic verbal. Officers made contact with the reporting party upon arrival. The reporting party advised that the second party was located in the 14000 block of Cabana where officers made contact with the second subject. The officers advised both parties and cleared the scene.

A call was received in the 400 block of Penroy in reference to terroristic threats. Officers responded and made contact with both parties. Upon investigation officers determined it was a civil matter and advised both parties.

Officers responded to an animal call out in the area of Warren Belin and Jim Hofher in reference to two vicious loose K9s in the area. Officers responded and conducted a search of the area. The officers were not able to locate the K9s.

A traffic hazard call was received in the area of south Darrington and Valentin in reference to a two K9s blocking traffic. Upon arrival of the area the officers were unable to locate the K9s. The officers cleared the scene.

A vehicle disturbance call was received in the area of 1400 Horizon in reference to a reckless driver. Officers responded and proceeded to search the area. The officers were unable to locate the vehicle and returned to service.

Officers responded to a subject disturbance call in the 600 block of Manzanilla. The officers made contact with both parties. Officers determined it was a civil matter, both parties were advised.
