Horizon City Police Department’s Blotter: Week of August 28 through September 3

As August and summer fades into the mists of time and September rolls in, the men and women continue their daily job of keeping our high desert home safe and sound.

September 3: No Arrests

A traffic stop was conducted at the corner of Corby and Darrington. Upon investigation, a vehicle search was initiated, and narcotics were found. Evidence was contained and the subjects were cited and released.

A traffic stop was conducted at the corner of Cora Rucker and Nazareno. It was confirmed the driver had Horizon City Municipal Court warrants. The driver was advised on warrants and curfew and was released to a responsible party.

Officers’ responded to a vehicle lockout at the 100 block of N Kenazo. They were able to unlock the vehicle for the reporting party.

Officers’ responded to an open door in the area of Villa Seca. The residence was cleared and checked okay.

A commercial burglary alarm call was received at the 13000 block of Hollywood. Upon arrival, officers’ checked the area and residence. Officers’ advised the call was is reference to a false alarm.

Officers’ responded to a burglary of habitation at the 14000 block of Ghost Flower. Upon the officers’ investigation, it was found no items were missing. No report was generated.

Officers’ responded to the 200 block of Desert Breeze in reference to a domestic verbal call. The parties involved were separated and advised accordingly.

A subject disturbance was reported at the 14000 block of Desierto Lindo. Officers’ arrived on scene and made contact with the involved parties. Officers’ determined that the call was in reference to minor consumption. Juveniles were cited and released to responsible parties.

An officer conducted a vehicle check at the 14000 block of Horizon. The driver was advised to leave the area.

September 2: One Arrest

While on patrol, our officers came across a suspicious vehicle on the 14400 block of Rudi Kuefner. Our officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle and checked the area. The area and subject checked okay and were advised to leave the area.

While patrolling the block of 14200 Desierto Lindo, our officers came across several subjects in the area. The officers checked the subjects and detained two of them for drug paraphernalia. One subject was released to the responsible party and the second subject was booked at the downtown jail.

Our officers were dispatched out to the 700 block of Desierto Bonito referencing a residential burglary alarm. Upon arrival, officers checked the area and residence. The area and residence checked okay and was reference a false alarm.

Our officers went out to the 14400 block of Corby referencing a medical call. The officers assisted Horizon Fire Department and Life Ambulance in aiding the patient. The patient was transported to a local hospital.

A commercial burglary alarm call was received at the Pete Duarte Headstart. Our officers were dispatched out to the area and checked the building. The officers secured the area and the building checked okay. The call was reference a false alarm.

HCPD received a motor vehicle accident call with no injuries in the area of Desert Mesquite and Desert sage. Officers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. Officers secured the area and a report was generated.

A call was received out on the 14300 block of Desert Point referencing a suspicious subject. Our officers were dispatched out to the area. The officers arrived to the area and checked the area, however they were unable to

September 1: Two Arrests

A loss prevention officer from the Walmart called in requesting a unit reference to shoplifting. Units were dispatched to this location to find a juvenile shoplifting, Walmart did not wish to prosecute at this time and juvenile was advised and released to responsible party.

A walk-in at the station requested a unit for a civil escort to pick up belongings from residence. Civil escort was complete information was received and both parties were advised.

Officers conducted a traffic stop at 13600 Horizon after checking and run subject, subject came back wanted with our agency for warrants. Subject was taken to Horizon City Police Department to post bond then was later released.

Officers conducted a traffic stop at 14615 Desierto Lindo an additional unit was requested to conduct a vehicle search. Officers generated a non-arrest report for possession, vehicle and subjects were released to responsible party and units cleared.

A person came in to the station requesting to turn himself in reference to warrants with our agency. Subject was later booked into the downtown jail.

Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries. Officers arrived to the Horizon High School parking lot to meet with both parties, damage was under $1000 dollars and blue forms were issued with no report made.

Officers patrolled the area of Desert Bush and Desert Silver and encountered with multiple juveniles walking late at night. Officers met with all juveniles and released them to their responsible parties.

August 31: No Arrests

Officers advised of an open door in the 700 block of Villa Seca. After making entry and clearing the building, the residence was secured and the area was determined to be safe.

A commercial alarm was reported at 150 S Darrington at the T-Mobile store. Units responded quickly and determined it was a false alarm.

Horizon Police Department and Horizon Fire Department were dispatched to a water main break in the area of 14000 Blair. Units controlled the scene until Horizon MUD was able to arrive. The scene was then turned over to the water company.

A residential alarm was reported near 1400 Cliffrose. Officers responded quickly and checked the building and surrounding areas. They determined it to be a false alarm and the residence was secured.

Units responded to a call in reference to possible criminal mischief in the area of 14000 Warren Belin. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the reporting party and gathered information on a vehicle that had been vandalized. A report was generated.

A suspicious subject was reported in the 14000 block of Escalera. Officers checked surrounding areas in attempt to locate the subject. The subject was gone on arrival. Officers then made contact with the reporting party and gathered information.

August 30: No Arrests

While on patrol officers discovered an open door in the 700 block of Villa Seca. The officers checked the residence and found it checked ok, and secured the door.

Officers responded to a call about a loose K9 in the 600 block of Desierto Bonito. Upon arrival of the area the officers made contact with the K9 and attempted to contain it. Officers were able to contact the K9’s owner and the K9 was handed over to the owner. The owner was cited and officers returned into service.

HCPD received a multi vehicle accident call with no injuries in the area of Darrington and Alderwood. Officers arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. A report was generated and citations were issued.

Officers responded to a domestic verbal call in the 600 block of Danube. Responding officers made contact with the two parties. During the course of the investigation the officers concluded that it was a verbal conflict and advised both parties.

Officers were flagged down while on patrol in reference to harassment. The officers received the information and determined that no harassment had occurred and advised the reporting party.

While patrolling the 14600 block of Horizon BLVD officers checked on a vehicle. The vehicle check out ok and officers returned into service.

A vehicle disturbance call was received in the 14500 block of Corby. Officers checked the area upon arrival and were unable to locate the vehicle.

A commercial alarm call was received for the GOODWILL at 13998 Horizon. Officers responded and upon arrival conducted a throw check of the establishment. The officers concluded the call to be false and cleared the scene.

A public assistance call was received in the 13800 block of Horizon BLVD. the reporting party advised of an obstruction that crossed the walking path. Officers arrived on scene and removed the obstruction.

Officers on patrol in the area of Villa Seca and Antwerp checked on two subjects in a vehicle. The two subjects and the vehicle check out ok and were advised to leave the area.

August 29: One Arrest

A call was received on the 14100 block of McMahon referencing a domestic issue. Officers went out and met with both parties. Both parties were advised and were separated.

Our officers went out to the 13900 block of Horizon referencing a medical call. The officers assisted Horizon Fire Department and Life Ambulance in aiding the patient. The patient was transported to a local hospital.

HCPD received a call on the block of 19000 Armington referencing a suspicious item left at a residence. Our officers were dispatched out to the residence and met with the reporting party. The area and residence checked okay and officers advised the reporting party.

Our officers were dispatched out to the 300 block of Warren Belin referencing a residential burglary alarm. Upon arrival, officers checked the area and residence. The area and residence checked okay and was secured. Officers spoke with the homeowner and was reference a false alarm.

We received a call in reference to a suspicious vehicle out on the 13900 block of Horizon. Our officers arrived and made contact with the subject and vehicle. Upon investigation, our officers arrested the subject due to possession and was booked at the downtown county jail.

A call was received out on the 14600 block of Calla Lily referencing a suspicious subject. Our officers were dispatched out to the area. The area checked okay and the residence was secured.

HCPD received a call out at the Walmart referencing keys locked in a vehicle. Our officers were dispatched out and met with the reporting party. They assisted the reporting party and were able to unlock the vehicle.

August 28: No Arrests

An animal call was reported in the area of Escalera and Maravillas. The reporting party advised of a loose Pitbull near a bus stop. Units arrived to the area and were not able to locate the K9.

Officers were dispatched to an assault call. Units arrived on scene and made contact with the victim who refused medical attention. Officers gathered all information and a repot was generated.

A vehicle disturbance call was reported in the area of Darrington and Horizon. Reporting party advised of a truck driving around the area. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the vehicle.

An open door was reported in the neighborhood of Medill and Brill. Officers arrived on scene and cleared the home. Everything checked okay.

Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Von Bargen in reference to subject disturbance. Officers made contact with reporting party and determined it was a civil issue.

A domestic issue was reported in the neighborhood of Horizon and Lago Seco. Units arrived to location and made contact with both involving parties. Officers determined it was a verbal issue only and both parties were advised.
