It a new month, but the same old mission for the Horizon City Police Department: Keep the Residents of the High Desert Safe.

August 5: One Arrest
A possible burglary of vehicle in progress was reported in the area of Desierto Lindo and Villa Seca. Officers arrived quickly and met with one subject. After gathering information, officers determined no burglary was taking place and the registered owner of the vehicle checked okay.
Officers responded to a report of an open door at a residence in the area of 14000 Lago Azul. Officers made entry and cleared the residence. The home was secured and nearby areas were determined to be safe.
One subject was arrested following a motor vehicle accident in the area of 600 Orchid. Officers advised of a vehicle that had ran through a rock wall. One subject was arrested and processed for driving while intoxicated. The subject was later booked into the downtown jail. No injuries were reported.
August 4: Two Arrests
One subject was arrested following a traffic stop near 13000 Eastlake. Officers made contact with a person who was wanted with our agency. The subject was later booked into the jail annex.
A second person was arrested following a traffic stop near 14000 Horizon. The subject was determined to be wanted out of the Horizon City Municipal Court. Officers processed the subject at the station and they were later booked into the jail annex.
Units were dispatched to 13900 Horizon at the Walmart store in reference to shoplifting. Officers met with loss prevention personnel and a report was generated for theft.
Officers advised of a possible fight in progress at the Wing Daddy’s restaurant near Darrington and Eastlake. Information was gathered at the scene with restaurant staff and the incident was determined to be mutual combat. First responders checked subjects and no injuries were reported.
A domestic disturbance was reported in the 14000 block of Peter Noyes. Officers met with all parties involved and determined the issue was verbal only. Both parties were separated and advised accordingly.
August 3: No Arrests
Officers and first responders were dispatched to an outside fire at 14651 Horizon at Horizon High School. The fire was contained to a trash can outside of the building and was extinguished. Officers gathered information and a report was generated. No injuries were reported.
Units responded to the area of 14000 Desierto Bello in reference to a domestic issue. Upon arrival, officers met with all parties involved and determined the issue was verbal only. All parties were separated and advised accordingly.
A suspicious subject was reported near the 700 block of Teichelkamp. The reporting party advised of a subject outside of their residence. Officers responded quickly but the subject was gone prior to their arrival.
HCPD responded to a business alarm at 13650 Eastlake. Officers checked the area and advised the building was secure and it was determined to be a false commercial alarm.
August 2: No Arrests
Units responded to a report of damage to business at 170 N Kenazo. Officers met with the reporting party and a report was generated in reference to criminal mischief.
A vehicle disturbance was reported in the area of Darrington and Roslyn. The reporting party advised of a vehicle stopping and going on the roadway. Officers responded quickly but were unable to locate the vehicle.
A residential alarm was reported in the 14000 block of Roslyn. Officers checked the building and determined it was a false alarm. The surrounding neighborhood was determined to be safe.
August 1: Two Arrests
A wanted subject turned themselves in at HCPD for warrants with Horizon Municipal Court. The subject was arrested and posted bond. The subject was later released.
In the 300 block of Roslyn officers conducted a traffic stop. The driver was found to be wanted with the Horizon Municipal Court. The subject was arrested and posted bond. The subject was later released.
A residential alarm call was received out in the 14200 block of Desierto Lindo. Officers checked the residence and was found to be a false alarm. The residence checked ok and was secure. Officers cleared the scene.
Officers responded to a Motor vehicle accident out at 14600 block of Horizon Blvd. the officers upon investigation determined that the damages were less than $1000.00 and issued blue forms to the involved parties. Both parties were advised and the officers cleared the scene.
Out in the 1500 block of Hartsdale an alarm call was received. Officers checked the residence and found it to be secure. The call was deemed to be a false alarm.
July 31: No Arrests
A vehicle disturbance was reported in the area of Eastlake Blvd and Darrington Rd. Officers attempted to locate vehicle, however officers were unable to locate. They checked the rest of the area and checked okay.
Our officers went out to a call on the 400 block of Hadley referencing a residential burglary alarm. The officers arrived and checked the residence. The area and residence checked okay.
A motor vehicle accident occurred in the cross streets of Horizon Blvd and Ashford St. involving two vehicles. The officers responded to the scene and met with both parties. No report was generated. No injuries were reported and the officers advised both parties involved.
A second motor vehicle accident occurred in the intersection of Ashford St. and Alderwood Manor Dr. involving two vehicles. Our officers responded to the scene and met with both parties. Both parties were advised and a report was generated.
An additional call was received in the 400 block of Brill Cir referencing a suspicious vehicle in the area. Our officers went out and check the vehicle. Both the area and vehicle checked okay.
July 30: No Arrests
A noise disturbance call was reported in the neighborhood of De Stefano and Jim Hofher. Officers were dispatched and were able to make contact with home owner, home owner was advised and music was shut off.
In the area of Danube and Valentin underage drinking was reported. Officers arrived on scene and juveniles were released to responsible party, juveniles were also cited and officers were able to create a report.
A fire alarm call was reported at the Wing Daddy’s, HCPD units responded along with the Fire Department. On scene arrival first responders were able to identify fire alarm as a false alarm and units cleared shortly after.
A domestic verbal issue was reported in the neighborhood of Fuji and Katherine, officers arrived on scene and made contact with both parties. Parties were separated and officers cleared shortly after.
