Horizon City Police Department’s Weekly Blotter: February 4 through 10

Now, halfway through the second month of the year, the men and women of the Horizon City Police Department continued their mission to keep the entire High Desert safe and sound.

In addition to their regular duties, HCPD Officers conducted periodic checks of the businesses and homes listed on our vacation watchlist.

February 10th: No Arrests

0706 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious person.

0906 Officers responded to a complaint of a traffic hazard in the area of Darrington Rd. & Rudi Kuefner. Officers attempted to locate wood pallets which had reportedly been scattered on the roadway but found they had been picked up and removed upon their arrival.

1218 500th block of S. Darrington, officers responded to a complaint of a traffic hazard on the roadway. Officers located and removed a construction barrel.

1228 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers provided information.

1233 Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog in the area of Horizon Blvd. & S. Kenazo Ave. Officers attempted to, but are unable to locate the animal.

1436 14000th block of Lago Azul, Officers responded to a residential alarm, Officers checked the residence and determined a false alarm.

1539 Offices were requested to assist El Paso Sheriff’s Office deputies at the 13000th block of Eastlake Blvd.

1723 13900th block of Horizon Blvd, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers attempted to, but were unable to contain the animal.

1453 14200th block of Desert Cloud, Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash. Drivers exchanged information at the scene.

1811 14300th block of Antwerp, Officers responded to a complaint of possible animal cruelty. Officers checked on the animals and determined that they had adequate shelter, water, and food.

1918 14700th block of Horizon View, Officers responded to a request for a safety and wellness check. Officers met with the person in question and determined no need for emergency intervention.

1929 13600th block of Eastlake, Officers checked on the businesses in the shopping center.

1939 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of people causing a disturbance. Officers arrived and found that they had already left the store.

1950 14000th block of Horizon Blvd, Officer responded to a motor vehicle crash. Drivers exchanged information at the scene.

2209 500th block of Cactus Crossing, Officers respond to a complaint of shots fired in the desert area. Officers checked the desert areas.

2334 13600th block of Horizon Blvd, Officers checked on the staff at the Providence Hospital.

0026 600th block of Maravillas, Officers responded to a hit and run motor vehicle crash. Officers investigated the collision and generated a crash report.

0131 14300th block of Rudi Kuefner, Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle. Officers determined no illegal activity.

February 9th: No Arrests

0741 In the area of Desert Ash & Desert Spring, Officers checked on a person possibly involved in a crime committed in El Paso. Officers determined no illegal activity and coordinated information with EPPD.

1039 600th block of Orchid, Officers responded to a request for an emergency vehicle unlock.

1056 200th block of Barrel Cactus, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Parties involved were uncooperative with the Officers’ investigation. Officers did not observe signs of physical altercations and asked the parties to separate for the day to cool down. Parties involved refused.

1123 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash. Drivers involved exchanged information at the scene.

1141 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of harassment at the Horizon Middle School campus. Officers referred the parent to school administrators and the school resource officer assigned to the campus.

1218 400th block of N. Kenazo, Officers responded to a commercial silent alarm. Officers met with employees and patrons and determined a false alarm.

1400 400th block of N. Kenazo, Officers responded to a commercial panic alarm. Officers met with employees and patrons and determined a false alarm. Officers noted that there could be a malfunction in the alarm system.

1431 1430th block of Desierto Lindo, Officers responded to a complaint of trespass. Officers checked the area for activity as described but were unable to locate the suspect as described.

1455 13800th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a request for a personal safety and wellness check. Officers met with the person in question and determined no need for emergency intervention.

1505 400th block of N. Kenazo, Officers responded to a commercial panic alarm. Officers met with employees and patrons and determined a false alarm. Officers noted a malfunction in the alarm system.

1515 14300th block of Desierto Bonito, Officers responded to a complaint of criminal trespass, Officers met with the offending individual and issued a criminal trespass warning. The person was subsequently released.

1555 Officers responded to a civil contention in the area of Antwerp & Weireman. Officer s provided information.

1604 400th block of N. Kenazo, Officers responded to a commercial panic alarm. Officers met with employees and patrons and determined a false alarm. Officers noted a malfunction in the alarm system.

1624 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers obtained fingerprints from a person requesting those services for employment background investigation purposes.

1658 Officers issued a red tag for to an abandoned vehicle located in the area of Corby & Cora Ruecker.

1710 700th block of Villa Seca, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers were able to contain and hold the animal for El Paso County Animal Control Services.

1729 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of theft. Officers, met with loss prevention and investigated the theft. Officers issued a Class C Citation.

1735 600th block of Teichelkamp, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers determined the altercation took place outside the city limits. Officers referred the complainant to El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

1820 13600th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash. Drivers exchanged information at the scene.

1848 13600th block of Eastlake Blvd., Officers responded to a commercial alarm. Officers checked on employees and patrons and determined a false alarm.

1854 Officers responded to a crash in the area of Darrington & Corby. Officers investigated the collision and determined a false alarm.

1901 14300th block of Horizon Blvd, Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash. Drivers exchanged information at the scene.

1921 19000th block of Armington, Officers responded to a complaint of possible burglary of habitation. Officers checked the residence with the homeowner and determined no break in took place.

2036 14300th block of Tolosa, Officers responded to a person undergoing a mental/ emotional health crisis. Officers conducted investigated and determined the person’s actual location to be in the city of El Paso. Officers coordinated emergency intervention with El Paso Police Department.

0024 14700th block of Dust Devil. Officers assisted ambulance and fire crews with a medical emergency.

0047 14700th block of Acra, Officers responded to a complaint of loud music, Officers met with the homeowner and issued a warning.

0150 700th block of Cocotitlan, Officers responded to a complaint of persons causing a disturbance. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate persons matching description provided.

0446 Officers checked on a vehicle in the area of McMahon & Duanesburg. Officers determined no illegal activity.

February 8th: No Arrests

0729 Officers assisted a stranded motorist with a stalled vehicle in the area of McMahon & Duanesburg.

1030 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers obtained fingerprints from a person who requested the service for background investigation purposes.

1039 14300th block of Desert Fire, Officers responded to a residential fire alarm. Officers and HCFD determined a false alarm.

1129 18900th block of Desert Song, Officers responded to a civil dispute. Officers met with a repossession agent and homeowner and moderated the dispute.

1408 17000th block of Darrington Rd., Officers responded to a complaint of harassment. Officers conducted investigation and generated a police report.

1414 400th block of Benton, Officers responded to a complaint of criminal mischief. Officers provided information.

1521 14200th block of Desert Sage, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers provided information.

1611 14700th block of Desert Breeze, Officers were flagged down with a complaint of criminal mischief. Officers generated a police report.

1710 12500th block of Weaver, Officers responded to a 911 hang-up. Officers checked on the establishment and determined a misdial.

1714 120th block of N. Kenazo, Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash. Officers investigated the collision and generated a CR-3 crash report.

1836 14300th block of Bryce, Officers responded to a complaint of juveniles causing a disturbance. Officers located the juveniles as described and transported them home where they were released to their respective parents.

1859 14000th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of persons causing a disturbance. Officers located and conducted follow up on people as described engaging in the activity as described and issued Class C Disorderly Conduct citations respectively.

1949 14300th block of Desert Point, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers determined the extent of the altercation was verbal in nature. Officers asked that parties involved separate for the day to cool down.

2215 13900th block of Blooming Desert. Officers responded to a complaint of criminal mischief. Officers provided information.

2245 900th block of Soloma, Officers responded to a residential alarm. Officers checked the home and determined a false alarm.

0019 Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of Darrington & Blair. Officers investigated the collision and generated a CR-3 crash report.

0523 13600th block of Horizon Blvd, Officers conducted a safety and wellness check on the staff at the hospital.

0541 14000th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a commercial alarm. Officers checked the premises and determined a false alarm.

February 7th: No Arrests

0952 Officers assisted a motorist with a stalled vehicle in the area of Darrington & Horizon Blvd.

1042 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a civil contention between a homeowner and a roofer. Officers made a courtesy call to the roofer who agreed to finish the job on the following day.

1101 14000th block of Peter Noyes, Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress. Officers checked the area looking for person possibly related to the break in but were unable to locate subjects fitting description. Investigators were summoned to the scene and processed the crime scene.

1240 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers provided information.

1245 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of ID theft.

1411 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a request for a personal wellness and safety check on a female in a shopping center parking lot. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate any person matching description provided.

1413 500th block of Thayer Pease, Officers responded to a complaint of criminal mischief. Officers investigated and generated a police report.

1420 13600th block of Eastlake Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of theft. Officers provided information.

1517 Officers responded to a complaint of possible illegal parking in the area along Rifton. Officers checked the street and observed that vehicles were parked lawfully.

1524 Officers responded to a request for a personal safety and wellness check in the area of Darrington & Horizon Blvd., Officers checked the person and determined no need for emergency intervention.

1534 13600th block of Horizon Blvd, Officers checked on medical personnel at the hospital.

1543 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of a person causing a disturbance. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate any person as described.

1623 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a person with information regarding a motor vehicle crash occurred earlier. Officers provided information.

1641 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers met with a parent concerned about their child’s conduct. Officers met with the child and the parent.

1735 1600th block of Opossum, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers provided information.

1806 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a request for emergency vehicle lock out services.

1939 3600th block of Coleville, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious person. Officers located the person in question and upon further investigation developed probable cause for search and located drug paraphernalia. Officers issued Class C citations respectively.

2310 300th block of Golf View, Officers assisted El Paso County Animal Control officers with containing a coyote.

0135 Officers responded to a fire alarm at the 13700th block of Eastlake Blvd., Officers and HCFD determined a false alarm.

February 6th: No Arrests

0600 700th block of Desert Sage, Officers responded to a residential alarm. Officers were cancelled by the alarm monitoring company during their response.

0821 500th block of S. Darrington Rd., Officers responded to a minor motor vehicle accident in a parking lot. The drivers agreed to make arrangements between themselves.

1026 13600th block of Eastlake Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of a person causing a disturbance. Officers met with all parties involved and released with a warning.

1127 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers conducted a follow up in regards to an ongoing investigation.

1243 At the Horizon Cit PD headquarters, Officers responded to information regarding a motor vehicle crash.

1249 400th block of Amalia. Officers responded to a request for a safety and wellness check. Officers were met with no response at the front door and saw no signs of distress at the residence.

1337 14400th block of Golden Eagle Dr., Officers responded to a complaint of juveniles causing a disturbance. Officers arrived and assisted school security in detaining two juveniles who were subsequently returned to school and released to parents.

1134 200th block of Desert Breeze, Officers responded to a complaint of a runaway juvenile. Officers initiated investigation and generated a police report.

1340 800th block of Darrington, Officers responded to a medical emergency (injured student) at the Ricardo Estrada campus. Officers were cancelled by ambulance and fire crews as the injury was minor.

1503 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of a civil dispute. Officers provided information.

1527 14700th block of Canyon Breeze, Officers responded to a residential alarm. Officers checked the home and determined a false alarm.

1658 200th block of Tierra Linda, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the animal.

1736 Golden Eagle & Orchid, Officers responded to a complaint of a traffic hazard. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the hazard as described.

1801 400th block of Amalia, Officers once again attempted to check on the safety and wellness on behalf of a concerned third party. Officers met with the person in question and determined no need for emergency intervention.

1820 Officers responded to a collision on Darrington & Horizon Blvd., Officers investigated the collision and generated a CR-3 crash report.

1845 14700th block of Desert Breeze, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers determined the extent of the altercation was verbal in nature.

2210 600th block of Danube, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious person. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person as described.

2328 14700th block of Canyon Breeze, Officers responded to a residential alarm. Officers checked the home and determined a false alarm. Officers noted the heavy wind could have triggered an alarm sensor.

February 5th: No Arrests

0823 14300th block of Desert Sage, Officers responded to a animal complaint. Officers attempted to contain the animal and the animal returned to its pen where the owner was able to again secure the animal. Officers issued a warning to the owner.

1124 Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of Desert Mesa & Horizon Blvd., Officers investigated the collision and generated a CR-3 crash report.

1256 14400th block of Roslyn, Officers responded to a complaint of deceptive business practices. Officers opened investigation and generated a police report.

1323 500th block of Von Bargen, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and after meeting with the driver determined no illegal activity.

1600 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a civil contention. Officers provided information.

1603 14300th block of Desert Point, Officers responded to a residential alarm. Officers checked on the residence and determined a false alarm.

1614 200th block of Desert Breeze, Officers responded to a request for a safety and wellness check. Officers did not receive an answer at the front door and due to circumstances, Officers forced entry into the residence where Officers located a deceased elderly female. HCPD detectives were summoned to the scene due to the nature of the unattended death. Investigation continues.

1733 14400th block of Escalera, Officers responded to a residential alarm. Officers checked the home and determined a false alarm.

1749 13600th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers conducted a safety and wellness check on staff at the hospital.

1802 Officers assisted Horizon City FD with traffic control as they put out a vehicle fire in the area of S. Kenazo Ave. & Horizon Blvd.

1812 200th block of Desert Breeze, Officers responded to a complaint of a missing juvenile. The juvenile was located and returned to parents during preliminary investigation.

1850 14200th block of Desert Sage, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers provided the parents with information.

1908 700th block of Maravillas, Officers responded to an animal complaint, Officers met with the dog owner and issued a warning.

2200 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received information on an ongoing investigation.

2309 200th block of Desert Breeze, Officers responded to a parent-child discipline dispute. Officers provided information.

0130 Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of Horizon Blvd. & Ascencion. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicles as described.

0340 14700th block of Summit Breeze, Officers assisted ambulance and fire crews with a medical emergency.

February 4th: One Arrest

0821 14100th block of Weaver Rd., Officers responded to a commercial alarm. Officers checked the establishment and determined a false alarm after finding no signs of a break in.

0952 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers provided information.

1024 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers provided information.

1137 14000th block of Horizon Blvd, Officers responded to a 911 hang-up. Officers met with the occupants of the establishment and determined a misdial had taken place.

1313 14200th block of Narciso, Officers assisted ambulance and fire crews with a medical emergency.

1426 14400th block of Desert Sage, Officers reddened to an accident involving an ATV.

1800 Officers responded to a complaint of an injured animal in the area of Carson & Elderwood. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the animal as described.

2004 14700th block of Desert Breeze, Officers responded to a civil contention. Officers provided information.

2020 14500th block of Desierto Lindo, Officers assisted ambulance and fire crews with a medical emergency.

2031 14300th block of Desert Breeze, Officers were requested to once again meet with one of the parties involved in the civil dispute from earlier in the day. Officers provided information.

2035 150th block of S. Darrington, Officers responded to a commercial alarm. Officers checked the establishment and determined a false alarm.

2105 Officers respond to a motor vehicle crash at Horizon Blvd. & Breaux St. Officers investigated the collision and determined one of the drivers to be DWI. Officers arrested and booked the person into the El Paso County Detention Facility.

2114 Officers responded to a complaint of Criminal Mischief at the 13900th block of Horizon Blvd. An unknown person had punched the complainant’s vehicle while in the parking lot of a fast food eating establishment. The complainant simply wished to alert the officers about the activity but did not wish to file a report.

2323 14700th block of Cactus View, Officers responded to a complaint of loud music. Officers checked the area and issued a warning to the homeowner.

0151 14500th block of Horizon Blvd. Officers responded to a complaint of persons causing a disturbance. The persons causing the disturbance had left the area upon the arrival of the officers.
