With a week that included Christmas Eve and Day, the men and women of the Horizon City Police Department continued their mission in keeping the residents of the High Desert safe and sound.

December 25: No Report Yet

December 24: One Arrest

1302 Officers located marijuana during a traffic stop at the 13700th block of Eastlake. The driver was investigated and a criminal complaint will be presented to the DA’s Office as non-arrest.

1325 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received a possible narcotic substance. The substance was tested and was deemed non-narcotic.

1411 400th block of Jeweled Mesa, Officers responded to a residential alarm. Officers checked and found the residence secured, false alarm.

1442 120th block N. Kenazo, Officers responded to a minor motor vehicle collision. The drivers agreed to exchange information and make arrangements between themselves.

1448 Officers responded to a complaint of malfunctioning traffic lights in the area of Eastlake and Darrington Rd. Officers determined the malfunction began when a power outage.

1557 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a civil contention Officers provided information to the complaining party.

1648 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle illegally parked in a handicap zone. Officers made contact with the vehicle owner and discovered the owner had overlooked to display the permit.

1802 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a request for a civil escort to the 1160th block of Lago De Oro.

2124 400th block of Las Palomas, Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog in the area. Officers were unable to locate the animal as described.

2200 Officers responded to complaints of shots fired in the area of Villa Seca and Maravillas. Officers located the source of the shots and met resistance from a person involved in the incident. The person was charged with interfering with public duties and was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.

2302 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Carson and Alderwood Manor. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate a vehicle as described.

2309 Officers responded to a complaint of loud music at the 14000th block of Highweed. Officers located the source of the music at 14000th block of Peter Noyes. Officers issued a warning.

2321 Officers responded to a complaint of loud music at the 13900th block of Pete LaRue. Officers issued a warning.

0049 Officer assisted the El Paso County sheriffs office in helping a person undergoing a mental/emotional crisis in the area of Darrington road and Horizon Blvd.

0139 14200th block of Desert Cactus, Officers responding to a domestic disturbance. Officers determined the extent of the disturbance was verbal in nature. Parties involved were asked to separate for the remainder of the day.

0226 Officers responded to a complaint of vehicles driving on the wrong side of the roadway in the area of Eastlake Blvd. and N. Kenazo Ave. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate activity as described.

0258 14900th block of Calla Lily, Officers responded to a complaint of loud music. Officers issued a warning.

December 23: Two Arrests

1112 100th block of N.Kenazo Ave. Officers responded to a fire. Officers maintained the scene as HCFD extinguished the fire.

1155 13900th block of Blooming Desert, Officers responded to a complaint of a subject disturbing. Officers checked the home and found an open gate but no signs of a trespasser. Officers conducted additional search of the area.

1158 13900th block of Pete LaRue, Officers responded to a possible subject disturbing, Officers noted the disturbed items in the backyard of the residence could have been moved by the wind. Officers remained in the area.

1422 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers received additional informatin on an ongoing investigation.

1428 14200th block of Desierto Bello, Officers responded to a complaint of a child custody dispute. Officers provided information.

1634 14300th bloc of Escalera, Officers responded to a complaint of a dog jumping over multiple back yard walls. Officers located the animal and the owner, and issued a citation.

1755 14400th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle causing a disturbance in the area. Officers checked the area and located a person, seemingly intoxicated walking in the area. Officers believe this was the operator of the vehicle but were unable to establish probable cause to charge the person with DWI, the person was charged with public intoxication. Officers generated a police report.

1930 In the area of Horizon & Darrington Rd., Officers responded to a complaint of a person causing a disturbance at a mobile phone retailer. Officers arrived to meet with the irate customer and deescalated the situation.

2107 200th block of Barrel Cactus, Officers responded to a complaint of a possible dog fight in the area. Officers checked the neighborhood but were unable to locate animal activity as described.

2130 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of terroristic threat between employees of a local eating establishment. Officers met with both people involved and cleared the air.

2207 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to an alarm at the interior of a department store. Officers met with employees and patrons in the vicinity and determined a false alarm.

2228 Officers assisted ambulance and fire crews with a medical emergency.

2245 600th block of Valle De Bravo, Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call. Officers arrived and discovered a domestic dispute. Officers determined the extent of the disturbance was verbal in nature. Officers asked the couple to separate for the remainder of the night in order to cool down.

2330 Officers responded to a complaint of a subject causing a disturbance in the area of Valentin & Danube. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate a person as described.

0018 14200th block of Bryce, Officers responded to a burglary of habitation. Officers processed the crime scene and generated a police report.

0120 Officers checked two suspicious people in the area of Rodman & Venny Webb. Officers did not identify any illegal activity taking place.

0222 Officers responded to a verbal domestic disturbance in the 14400th block of Desert Ocotillo. Officers asked the couple involved to separate for the remainder of the day.

0344 Officers charged a driver with DWI during a traffic stop in the area of Horizon & Duanesburg. The person was arrested and booked into El Paso County Detention Facility.

December 21: No Arrests

0820 14000th block of Highweed, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicous vehicle, Officers checked the vehicle and determined no illegal activity.

1046 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a theft complaint, upon further investigation, Officers determined that the incident occurred outside the city limits and referred the complainant to El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

1128 Officers responded to a person undergoing a mental/ emotional health crisis at the 13800th block of Eastlake. Officers conducted an emergency detention of the person and transported them for mental/ emotional health evaluation.

1507 13600th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of criminal mischief. Officers arrived and determined unknown person(s) had placed the call as a joke and that no vandalism had taken place.

1530 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to questions and concerns about HCPD.

1604 600th block of Danube, Officers assisted first responders with a medical emergency.

1656 Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of Horizon Blvd., & Ascencion. Officers investigated the collision and generated a CR-3 crash report.

1756 14500th block of Orchid, Officers responded to a complaint of a residential gas leak. The gas was shut off by HCFD, there was no need for further emergency action.

1811 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of harassment. Officers investigated and provided information.

1849 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers provided a civil escort to the area of 14400th block of Desierto Bello.

1950 13600th block of Eastlake, Officers responded to a complaint of road rage. Officers investigated and provided information.

2009 Officers responded to a traffic hazard in the area under construction at Eastlake & Kenazo, Officers notified the construction company about the wrong road construction signage.

2017 Officers responded to a complaint of a person causing a disturbance in the area of 1919 Catham. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate persons as described.

2040 600th block of Villa Victoria, Officers responded to a complaint of trespass in progress. Officers checked the area as described but were unable to locate a person as described.

2052 15000th block of Ashford, Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call. Officers checked on the occupants of the residence and found no need for emergency intervention.

2125 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of a disturbance. Officers investigated and located a minor in consumption of alcohol. Officers issued citations respectively.

2234 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers attempted to, but were unable to contain the animal.

2242 Officers followed up on traffic flow in the construction area of Eastlake Blvd. & Horizon Mesa.

2241 14700th block of Dust Devil, Officers responded to a complaint of multiple loose dogs in the area. Officers attempted to locate but were unable to.

0233 400th block of Las Palomas, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers conducted investigation and determined the extent of the disturbance was verbal in nature. Officers asked involved parties to go their separate ways for the remainder of the night.

0524 200th block of Desert Breeze, Officers responded to a complaint of a dog sitting atop a vehicle. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the animal as described.

December 20: Four Arrests

0812 400th block of Von Bargen, Officers responded to a complaint of criminal mischief. Officers received information.

0922 150th block of Darrington Rd. Officers responded to a commercial alarm. Officers checked the establishment and found it secured. False alarm.

1333 15300th block of Fairwood, Officers assisted first responders with a medical emergency.

1408 13900th block of Pete La Rue, Officers responded to a complaint of theft of identity. Officers investigated and determined no ID Theft had taken place. Officers provided information.

1435 500th block of S. Darrington Rd., Officers lactated marijuana during a traffic stop. The driver was placed under arrest and booked into El Paso County Detention Facility.

1450 400th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call. Officers checked on the establishment and found no need for emergency intervention.

1613 14300th block of Escalera, Officers responded to a complaint of a lose dog. Officers checked the area and located the owner and issued a warning.

1654 Officers responded to a complaint of a subject with a gun in the area of Von Bargen & Bryce. Officers checked a group of subjects and found no firearms.

1716 14300th block of Escalera, officers met with the owner of the loose dog who was requesting additional information.

1802 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a civil contention complaint. Officers provided information.

1802 300th block of Brill Cir, Officers responded to a complaint of harassment. Officers investigated and provided information.

1907 900th block of Maravillas, Officers responded to a residential burglary alarm. Officers checked the home and found it secured. False alarm.

1909 Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle.

1951 14700th block of Paradise Breeze, Officers responded to a complaint of package theft. Officers conducted investigation and apprehended 3 juveniles believed to be involved. The juveniles were charged with theft and were processed into the Juvenile Probation Facility.

2127 Officers fielded a request from El Paso PD regarding conducting a wellness and safety check on a person involved in an incident of harassment.

2200 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a a request for civil escort to the area of Las Aguilas.

2231 500th block of Dayna, Officers responded to a request of wellness and safety check of a person. Officers made contact with the person in question and verified no illness or injury.

0057 200th block of Desert Breeze, Officers issued a parking violation citation.

0110 14700th block of Calhoun, Officers issued a parking violation citation.

0116 400th block of Von Bargen, Officers issued a parking violation citation.

0120 400th block of Von Bargen, Officers issued two parking violation citations.

0140 300th block of Las Palomas, Officers checked two subjects and located a minor in consumption of alcohol. Officers issued Class C citations respectively, and generated a police report.

December 19: One Arrest

0607 13600th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers rsponded to a complaint of a combative patient at the hospital. Officers met with the patient and deescalated the situation along with medical staff. The hospital assumed patient care.

0648 700th block of Desert Star, Officers responded to a residential alarm. Officers checked the home and found it secured, false alarm.

0958 15000th block of Darrington, Officers conducted traffic control around a traffic hazard.

1331 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers tended to general questions about a traffic citation.

1340 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of lost property and generated a police report.

1451 1500th block of Catham, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers determined the extent of the disturbance to be verbal in nature. The people involved were asked to separate for the day in order to cool down.

1603 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Officers conducted a follow up to the 700th block of Nazareno in order to check on the wellness and safety of the affected child.

1659 14600th block of McMahon, Officers responded to a neighbor dispute. Officers met with both neighbors and provided information.

1724 Officers located a person wanted by the Horizon City Municipal Court during a traffic stop at the 14100th block fo Horizon Blvd. Officers placed booked the person into the El Paso County Detention Facility.

1731 14100th block of De Stefano, Officers responded to a complaint of fraud. Investigation determined the fraud took place in the City of El Paso, Officers referred the complainant to El Paso Police Department.

1802 13600th block of Eastlake Blvd., Officers responded to an ATM alarm. Officers checked the ATM kiosk and found no signs of damage or theft. False alarm.

1839 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a hit and run motor vehicle crash. Officers located all parties involved in the collision and the parties agreed to settle the matter between each other.

1855 400th block of Jeweled Mesa, Officers assisted a member of the community with an emergency vehicle lockout.
1931 600th block of Darrington Rd., Officers responded to a hit and run motor vehicle crash. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the other vehicle. Officers generated a CR-3 crash report.

2219 500th block of Cactus Crossing, Officers responded to a complaint of 2 vehicles that were struck with eggs.

2220 14500th block of Bryce, Officers responded to a a complaint of a vehicle that was struck with eggs.

2220 Officers responded to a safety & wellness check on a person walking along the area of Horizon Blvd. & Ashford St. Officers met with the person and determined no need for emergency intervention.

2230 14300th block of Desert Sage, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers determined the extent of the disturbance was verbal and was a dispute over child custody. Officers provided information.

2046 100th block of N. Kenazo Ave., Officers responded to a complaint of suspicious subjects. Officers checked the area and located two juveniles walking the area.

2117 13900th block of Horizon Blvd., Officers responded to a minor vehicle collision. Officers issued a CR-2 crash report (blue forms).

2121 400th block of Cutler, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers determined the extent of the disturbance to be verbal in nature.

2141 14300th block of Desert Sage, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers had already been at this residence earlier in the night. The parties involved had continued verbally arguing. The non custodial party had already left the area.

2245 Darrington Rd. & Corby, Officers responded to a 3 vehicle collision. Officers investigated the collision and generated a CR-3 crash report.

2353 16000th block of Darley, Officers responded to a complaint of a person causing a disturbance. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate a person as described.

2353 400th block of Las Palomas, Officers responded to a complaint of loose dogs. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the animals as described.

0009 500th block of Thayer Pease, officers responded to a complaint of a dog barking excessively. Officers met with the owner and asked for the dog to be moved inside the home.

0020 14300th block of Desert Wind, Officers responded to a complaint of subjects tampering with Christmas decorations. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the subjects as described.

0033 600th block of Desierto Bonito, Officers responded to a loud music complaint, Officers made contact with the homeowner and requested compliance with city noise ordinances.

December 18: No Arrests

0701 Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call in the area of Darrington & Eastlake. Officers checked in on businesses and found that employees and patrons were not in need of emergency assistance.

0853 14700th block of Paradise Breeze, Officers responded to a noise disturbance. Officers checked the area, located the source and made contact with the homeowner.

0911 14100th block of Peter Noyes, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Officers conducted investigation and determined the extent of the disturbance was verbal.

1215 Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Horizon Blvd, & Rifton. Officers checked the vehicle and determined no illegal activity.

1230 1500th block of Opossum. Officers responded to a complaint of a loose dog. Officers located the owner of the animal and issued a warning.

1244 Officers were flagged down to assist a motorist in the area of Desert Valley & Paseo Del Este.

1306 14100th block of Cow Tongue, Officers referred an animal complaint to El Paso County Animal Control Services.

1322 14300th block of Tolusa, Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate a vehicle as described.

1530 Officers responded to a possible theft in the area of Horizon Blvd. & Biglon. Officers were not able to locate the owner of the establishment to account for inventory of equipment which could have been stolen. Officers will follow up with the owner of the establishment.

1627 600th block of Villa Victoria, Officers responded to a complaint of terroristic threat. Officers conducted investigation and determined the incident was a domestic dispute verbal in nature.

1630 Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Horizon Blvd. & Gretna. Officers determined the vehicle was not in violation of law.

1818 13800th block of Eastlake, Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash with possible injuries. Officers investigated the collision and generated a CR-3 crash report.

2214 14200th block of Desert Sky, Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle as described.

0003 At the Horizon City PD headquarters, Officers responded to a complaint of terroristic threat. Officers determined the incident was a civil contention and provided information.

0126 400th block of Loring, Officers assisted first responders with a medical emergency.
