It is National School Bus Safety Week and Clint ISD is joining other school districts across the nation to recognize the importance of keeping our students safe on our buses.
The safety and security of our students is a key focus in Clint ISD schools. Equally as important is safety on our buses.
“Clint ISD has a total of 114 buses in the fleet operated by just over 70 drivers who log nearly 1 million miles each year transporting students to and from school, on field trips and athletic activities,” district officials shared.
Since September of 2017, the District has purchased 56 new school buses to replace older ones at an investment of approximately $5.7 million.
All new buses purchased include seatbelts and air conditioning.
To date, 69 buses have seatbelts and 84 have air conditioning. Of the 64 daily routes our buses transport students by, 88% percent are equipped with seat belts and all have air conditioning.
To monitor activity on school buses, each bus is equipped with two to four security cameras.
