Early Voting Underway in Horizon; City, Water District SISD & EPCC Seats up for Grabs

It’s time once again for High Desert residents to make their voices heard via the voting booth.  As the general election day approaches – Saturday, May 4th – residents have many decisions to make.

Here in our town, Mayor Ruben Mendoza is facing Adrian Rivera in a battle for the mayoral seat; while Charlie Ortega battles Silas Baca for Alderman.  Two other races are uncontested – Samantha Corral and Johnny Duran.

Over on the Horizon Regional Municipal Utility District board, there is only one contested race, as Kit Thomas faces Mike Barton.

There are two other regional elections that make their way into the Horizon area, as EPCC Trustee for District 7, and SISD at large seats are up for grabs.

Below are sample ballots for each race, early voting is underway at the Oz Glaze Center, with that information also found below.
