Socorro Independent School District Police Services Emergency Management department and Guidance and Counseling and will provide a School Safety Summit for all high school feeder areas this school year.
The first safety summit, which is open to students, parents, and community members in the Eastlake feeder area, will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 18 at Eastlake High School.
“Team SISD is continuously working to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment,” said SISD Emergency Operations Plan Manager Ismael Castro. “We look forward to welcoming the community to our safety summits to Keep SISD Safe. This unique and proactive safety event will help our students, parents, and community members be aware of safety procedures and how to be prepared for emergency situations.”
The School Safety Summit will allow community members to learn more about the district’s safety procedures and emergency operations plan. Participants also will receive valuable information on how to help Keep SISD Safe, Emergency Operations Plan, Standard Response Protocol (SRP), mental health safety protocols, and other safety activities. In addition, safety protocols for lockout, evacuation, lockdown, shelter, and hold will be discussed.
