Team SISD encourages all students to continue reading during the summer break and Eastlake High School is helping by presenting Little Free Libraries to its feeder campuses.

“We really wanted to do this so we can have a literacy connection throughout the whole feeder pattern,” said Eastlake High School librarianAngelica Gonzalez. “We had help from everyone. It’s really great.”

Eastlake High School seniors built the libraries. The small dollhouse-like structures, which will be at the front of the schools in the Eastlake area, will be filled with books that students can borrow, read and return all summer long. The Eastlake library provided all books for the libraries.

Feeder campus librarians will keep watch over the little libraries during the summer break.
