El Paso PD Captures ‘Walk-Away’ Sex Offender from April

The sex offender who walked away from the Transitional Living Center back in late April has been captured.

According to a news release from the El Paso County Sheriff’s office Gilbert Ramirez was arrested on the 1200 block of Myrtle by the El Paso Police Department and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.

No other information was released by EPCSO or EPPD.

Back on Friday, April 21st, 2017, Ramirez left the El Paso Transitional Living Center located at 1650 Horizon, across the street from the Sparks neighborhood, just south of Horizon City.

Ramirez’s sex offense(s) is for 2 counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, the victim being a 12-year-old female at the time of the offense. He is on parole for said offense.

With his capture, Ramirez is also charged with a Parole Violation warrant and an additional charge of Sex Offenders Duty to Register.

Ramirez was the 6th sex offender to walk away from the facilities this year.
