UPDATE: EPCSO announces capture of escaped sex offender in Oklahoma

El Paso County Sheriff’s Officials announced on Tuesday night that a sex offender who escaped in early April, has been captured in Oklahoma.

EPCSO Officials share that on July 5, 2019, Dewey Taylor Hosxie was taken into custody in Muskogee County Oklahoma and booked into the Muskogee County Jail by the Veteran Affairs Federal Police Department.

Hosxie will be extradited back to El Paso County.

EPCSO Looking For Sex Offender that Didn’t Return to Facility; Fourth of the Year

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is again on the lookout for a sex offender and requesting assistance from the community in locating Dewey Taylor Hosxie.

According to EPCSO officials, on Tuesday, April 2, Dewey Hosxie left the El Paso Transitional Living Center located at 1650 Horizon Boulevard, south of Horizon City and across the street from the Sparks neighborhood.

Officials say that Hosxie left the facility to attend an appointment on the 500 block of North Piedras and then failed to return to the facility. They add that Hosxie cut off his ankle monitor and the last location on the device registered near the 5000 block of Alabama Street.

He is now wanted on a Parole Violation warrant and an additional charge of Fail to Comply Sex Offenders Duty to Register is forthcoming. His sex offense is for Aggravated Rape, the victim being a 28-year-old female.

He is currently on parole for said offense and Possession of Deadly Weapon/ Penal Institution.
