IDEA Public School starting construction on Horizon City Campus

With three campuses throughout the Borderland, IDEA Public schools has started construction on their newest campus, this one in the High Desert.

With a fence surrounding the location just behind the Hospitals of Providence Horizon City Campus at 13600 Horizon Boulevard, initial dirt work is underway – with construction equipment criss-crossing the site.

According to the IDEA Schools website, the three existing campuses are IDEA Edgemere Academy and College Prep on Edgemere Boulevard, IDEA Rio Vista Academy and College Prep is in Socorro, off Rio Vista Drive.  A third location – IDEA Mesa Hills – is on the city’s Westside at 405 Wallenberg.

The website makes mention of 6 schools in 2019, however there is no mention of the Horizon campus, nor when it’s scheduled to open.

IDEA public schools are tuition-free and are open to all students. Nationwide, IDEA has 96 schools serving 53,000 students; here in the El Paso area, IDEA serves nearly 2,000 students.
