Sex Offender fails to return to facility, EPCSO asks for public’s help to locate

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is again requesting assistance from the community in locating a sex offender who failed to return to the facilities just south of Horizon City limits, across from the Sparks neighborhood.

According to EPCSO officials, on Wednesday, November 13, Robert John Barela left the El Paso Transitional Living Center located at 1650 Horizon Boulevard.

Officials say he was allowed a pass to the Texas Workforce Commission located at 8825 North Loop Dr. but never returned to the facility and his whereabouts are now unknown.

He is now wanted on a Parole Violation and an additional charge of Fail to Comply with Sex Offenders Duty to Register is forthcoming. His sex offense is for Online Solicitation of a Minor, the victim being a 14-year-old female.
