El Paso County Sheriff’s Office official announced late Tuesday night that sex offender Ronnie Escobar was arrested in San Angelo, Texas as of Monday, July 17, 2017, and booked into the Tom Green County Jail by the San Angelo Police Department.
With only six months left in 2017, El Paso County Sheriff’s Officials report that the tenth sex offender has escaped from the facilities just south of Horizon City, across the street from the Sparks Neighborhood.
According to a Wednesday afternoon news release, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the community’s help in locating Ronnie Escobar. On Tuesday, July 11, 2017, Escobar left the El Paso Transitional Center at 1650 Horizon Boulevard.
Escobar was scheduled to report to the Texas Department of Public Safety office located at 11612 Scott Simpson but never made his appointment and cut off his ankle monitor alerting Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole. His last point according to the ankle monitor was the intersection of Scott Simpson and Greg Powers Drives and his whereabouts are now unknown.
Escobar failed to return to the facility and is now wanted on a Parole Violation and an additional charge of Sex Offenders Duty to Register is pending. His sex offense is for Burglary of Habitation with Intent to Commit Sexual Assault out of Runnels County the victim(s) being a 50 year-old female and is currently on parole for said offense.
